Haha yeh ill look for a better type bulb i think, the lamps themselves are pretty neat with the pop out feet.

The camera by the way is a Fujifilm 12.2MP Camera, this was in its macro setting.

PostSubject: taking photos   Tue Jan 26, 2010 9:52 am

Slightly on topic topic, but thought I'd throw this one in here. Smile

How do people take pics of their collection? Was playing around this weekend with taking some pics and wasn't 100% happy with different lighting/shadows etc.

Anyone have/build/use a lightbox, or have any other suggestions for taking good close up details pics? Thinking of both loose and carded figures here.
EDIT by James! I've merged topics Smile

Wow i cant believe its been a year since the last post on this thread!

I thought i would bump this as i have a new camera and i am keen to find out what techniques people are using to take the pictures. Hopefully we can learn more from each other.

I'm a firm believer that you can have a 500$ camera but if you don't know how to use it properly and don't take the time to think about and set up your environment (natural light, lightboxes etc) then your pictures will be shit on the same note you can get fantastic results using an old cheap camera with right set up, settings etc.

To kick things back off here is a picture of a loose R2. Due to the figure been mainly white it can be a real pain in the ass trying to get good details shots of this figure in my opinion.

This picture was taken using a natural light set up -
