Its about time they crack down on that. Maybe its a start of something good and Ebay starts stepping up to asses like that.

It would be interesting to know the details on the case though.

Mostly because ebay's new privacy policy makes it difficult to detect shill bidding anymore. I'm pretty sure I fell victim to it recently, but there's just no way to prove it without knowing the identities of those that were bidding against me.

If its the same guy (from consett)?

he was selling /trading vans and mini buses and using two different accounts to bump prices up, he used both accounts on a regular basis also for legitimate sales, so they where both in his name and his address and had his pay pal details on them........ wont take a genius to work out.....

was in the local paper (chronicle) couple months ago

Ebay also have a detection system but it carnt sweep the whole site it mainly operates when somone reports a shil bidder they run the checks on them then

its a very vague system though, they can sweep through common trends on bidding on your items but you'd have to be bloody stupid to get caught
