Welcome to my mailer feature and guide. After having a few questions about mailers I decided, like with the coins, to make a guide. Smile All the pictures shown here are from my collection and a few others as noted. I've also tried to document the other versions out there. Those versions are simply based on my experience with mailers and if anyone would like to help me out with getting those as correct as possible, I would appreciate it. I will be adding some notes to each one as I have time. To figure out the baggie types please refer to the baggie guide on the archive. I was originally going to post the dimensions of all the boxes, inserts, etc for those that want custom cases made, but with the repro mailer boxes that showed up earlier this year, I decided against it. I will still share that information though to anyone that is a trusted member here wanting to get cases made.

Mailers can be tough to display. One example is like this one where the collector put the bagged figure on top of the mailer box. Another way is with acrylic cases which I believe AFA was the first to come up with this method. of displaying mailers in an acrylic cases with compartments showing the box, bagged figure, paperwork, etc.

Picture 1: Some of Craig Thomas' graded mailers.
Picture 2: My mailers in Oscar cases on display.

WOW Shawn!!!!

That's awesome stuff! Great job man!

I am totally blown away. Not only by the guide itself, but the you own all of these pieces. I knew you had some mailers, but I had no idea! Very Happy

Also, I think this is the first time I've seen your full Young Jedi Mailer run. That's absolutely fantastic.

I do have a question though. How many figures are known to have come on the follow up letter? I know those letters are rarer then hens teeth, but I was wondering what additional information is out there?

Thanks for adding this!

Thanks Chris! I started the mailers shortly after finishing my loose set and trying to figure out "What's Next?" I always liked them and they seemed like a good choice.

The followup letter should have only come with whatever figure the child would have chosen, so the options were C-3PO, Vader, R2-D2, and Luke Jedi. One time on ebay I saw a 3PO on a folded cardback with the POP blacked out. I'm still kicking myself on not picking it up. The ultimate for me would be to find a Luke Jedi. Here's another case where a figure that would be deemed a beater would actually be a top piece. At least in my collection. Wink

What a nice surprise Shawn!

As you know I'm a big fan of the mailers too so I will really enjoy watching this post come together.

If you need pics of any of my mailers let me know. I have the complete Young Jedi Knight Mailer incl Mailer box and the prototype Coin album which was going to be a part of the (never released) second mail-away coin offer for POTF 93-backs.

I can also supply pics of my European Mail-aways if you think that would be a good second chapter. I email them to you though so that you keep all the refernce material in the first post and make the guide easier to read.

Well done buddy and good luck!

That's a great mailer collection and it's even better how you transformed it into a mailer guide, showing all contents etc...

Well done Shawn and thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I was beginning to think that no one liked little cardboard boxes. Laughing

The guide will be expanded soon as I've already received some great info from Rob on the Toltoys mailers and I'm going to take Craig up on his offer for the Euro mailers.

Hi Shawn,
really enjoyed seeing your mailer guide. Great work and I love the inclusion of the video clips too.
Was interesting to see so much paperwork too, and discover some of its origins - in my paperwork I have the Bossk character sheet which I think is so cool.
I also have the blue Revenge insert but I didn't realise it came from the Ackbar mailer until I saw your guide.

Top work thanks for sharing Cool Cool Cool

ditto. Great piece there Shawn!

FYI for anyone who is thick as plank like myself: The Video's linked by Shawn above don't show if you are using IE 64-bit. So use the older version of Internet Explorer and they will display fine and you can watch. Probally won't be anyone else who need to know this but thought I would post incase.

They are well worth watching! I didn't know they existed.

Hello,
An excellent guide, congratulations!.

Is it possible that in the Survival Kit Mailer can find a Palitoy catalog and the assembly instructions and baggie with Kenner logo?.
I have one and seeing the Guide I have doubts.

Best Regards.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for the address labels too. I think were in the minority on that, but to me there's just something about knowing the mailer actually went through the postal system and knowing someone actually sent away for it. Thanks for the pictures and I will add them to the guide. I've got two pictures up that Craig already sent me and just got some from Rob that will be going up soon.

Thanks!

I think that is very possible as long as the Palitoy version came with the instruction sheet. Just guessing but they very well could have just included the ones Kenner had printed up. Hopefully someone with the Palitoy version of this mailer can answer this question.

Also, Massive Update, I've added everything from my collection now, and with the help of some great members, the guide is now expanded to also include Clipper, Toltoys, and Palitoy mailers. I don't think I've ever seen a thread/webpage with so many mailers shown. Shocked Thank you to everyone that has contributed so far and I hopefully have credit for who owns what in the right places.

Fantastic thread Shawn. Incredible work.

Here's my Palitoy PDT-8 mailer. If you want to add it to your guide, please go ahead.

Very, very, very nice update Shawn!

I am blown away with all that's shown here. And TBH, this is the first time I've actually seen a Palitoy/Bridgate baggie! I had no idea they were THAT different.
That's really cool!

However, I think the ultimate is the C3PO's! That's just killer! And another thing I had no idea about. Great stuff!
