Was taking some pics of my house in general and thought I would share these. Some pics of my shadow from my Marine Days. Figured some of you guys may find it interesting.

My Shadow Box:

My Grandad's WWII decorations. Fought on Guadacanal and Iwo Jima.

Adding a pic of my Grandad. Can't scan the pic. It's too fragile.

My NCO Sword:

Pretty cool Dallas. Lots of medals you've got there. I don't know what any of them mean but congrats on a good carreer.

Your granddad was on Guadacanal and Iwo Jima? Two really dirty and hard fought battlegrounds. You for sure should be proud of him.

Thank you to you and granddad for your service.

Yes sir - and he somehow survived them both. He was a flamethrower which was the #2 target second to machinegunners. He was one of the main reasons I joined the Marines. I'm not from a military family but I looked up to him so much growing up and really admired the man he was. I know the Corps had a lot to do with who he turned out to be.

Thanks for the recognition bud.

Now thats 2 displays to be very proud of. I never joined the military, but if my dad would've stayed in, I probally would've went that route. He was in the Air Force. My hats off to you, your granddad and all who serve to allow us to be and do what we do. bow bow bow

That's certainly a more important display(s) than any Star wars collection.

Thanks guys! It means a lot to me to have my Grandad's decorations displayed. A reminder of our Greatest Generation and I'm proud he was a part of that.

Mine are kind of a reminder to me since I'll will never be back in uniform. Keeps me thinking about my Brother Marines and the sacrifices they are still making. All of our Military men and women for that matter.

If you ask anyone in the Military they never want any type of special recognition but it is always nice to kind words of support. So even though I'm long since retired I thank you guys for the recognition and pass it along to anyone else in uniform.

Wow those are great Dallas! Amazing really!

The WW2 stuff is very special to see. That's just great!

And to echo what others have said, thank you for your service in defending our country.
