It looks seriously like a taiwan coo figure which is either a short short
on the coo or it has been scalped. A meccano boba is a totally different
colour all over plus this coo is incorrect for a meccano fett.

It's possible that the seller is unaware of this but i'm certain it's a taiwan
boba.

I think the seller could be quite right. He seems to be referring to the French/Meccano run of Tri Logo Fett. I sold one such figure carded a few months ago and it indeed does look like the loose figure in the auction (without the COO on his right leg). Or am I missing something here which is obvious to you hardcare variant spotters?

Maybe a deja vu, but I think I have seen such a fake already a couple of weeks ago at ebay.

That's defo a figure based on the Taiwan COO. Looks well done. Someone's gonna be pissed.

I made some test on myself on a beater Fett this weekend. Here ya go:


Its not perfect because I was trying different methods at once and ruined it a few times and had to start new. In the end its easy I think to make a perfect one....with a little excercise...and more expierence...no problem IMO.

Anyway. Its cleary a Taiwan figure that was modified and it simply does not exist....There isnt even ONE Taiwan coo that was changed into a no coo on all figures!


Be aware...If he uses a correct origin HK coo the next time...or other figures pop up (Meccano Luke, DSC, Tusken, RS...etc.) be sure you know HOW the paint apps should look.

Sorry to hijack this threat, but whats the differents between the mecanno and the ones that came of the esb-a baggies. Looks like the same coo - head, arms and legs, but kenner body.

wrong coo, wrong material and wrong paint...so for sure no Meccano Fett!

Its definately a small copyright HK Fett. But this shouldnt exist as no coo. Ill go for short/poor shot!

If you sell it please pm me. I would be interested in seeing it in first hand! (Although I really think that this cannot be true.)

well sometimes it can happen that to less material was shot/injected in the mold or rests from the shot before (or dirt, etc) can be still in the depth of the coo...In this case especially the coo is not molded fully.

Its a simple factory error that can accure and Ive seen a lot of these over the years.

Well I have to admit...this one really looks perfect, because only the country is not visible and its the full country name is not visible...still could be a factory error...but Im a bit overcharged and confused now....

This opicture was a slap in my coo knowledge face...lol

yours is clearly a no coo from coo#2! Meccano should have larger copyright symbol. The origin HK figure is #3. Thje differences are tiny, but if you have a close look you will see I hope


PS: I dont want to confuse you...so ignore this maybe: The coo chart is old. there is 2 different Taiwan and HK coo with the tiny copyright symbol. The position from copyright and year can vary from up to down.....anyway...these are totally different to the large copyright HK coo )
