| Well, heres my reason why to go see a doctor. I woke up yesterday morning with my left arm and side hurting like hell (which it still does sans me still up at this hour). During the day it finally cooled down enough where it didnt bother me so much. So speed up to 10 pm. I go to the hospital because it started to bother me like I had a cracked rib, which I know wasnt the case. So I sit in the hospital waiting for the all the tests to finish running and find out my blood pressure was way up, 204 over something. So to say I go to find out why my side hurts like hell (which its caused by Pleurisy) and end up having to start on blood pressure meds. It finally made it to 149 over 85 or something like that at 4am so I can come home.
Moral of the story guys is go get checked out, especially if heart disease runs in your family. I know I needed to go get a check up for awhile but kept putting it off. Glad I went now. Even if it doesnt run in the family, still go for a regular check up to make sure. In case your wondering what Pleurisy is, heres the definition of it.
Pleurisy (also known as pleuritis) is an inflammation of the pleura,[1] the lining of the pleural cavity surrounding the lungs. Among other things, infections are the most common cause of pleurisy.
The inflamed pleural layers rub against each other every time the lungs expand to breathe in air. This can cause severe sharp pain with inhalation (also called pleuritic chest pain).
And believe me, this shit hurts like pure hell. You cant do nothing because if you move a certain way, cough, yawn, or take a deep breathe it feels like a psycho is running a dull knife through you.

| Thanks mates. I got to get the meds they prescribed later on today. If I can just get it to quit hurting for 8 hours so I can get some much needed sleep, Id feel better. The morphine they gave me in the hospital wore off all ready and the lortabs havent kicked in yet. I just got to keep monitering the blood pressure from now on. But it sucks, I'm 39 I shouldnt be falling apart all ready. |

| Hey Chris,
Good that you had yourself checked!!
Did the doctors prescribe you some antibiotics to combat this nasty infection?
And ask them something to relief the pain when it returns.
I wish you a good recovery, bro!!!

| Thanks guys. After sleeping most of the day, its starting to ease up some. I'm one of those who hates going to doctors and wont go unless its an absolute must, like last night. Good side is all the tests they did came back good, blood work, CAT scan, EKG, and x-rays. They couldnt find anything wrong, not blood clots or anything to worry about. Dr. D, all they gave me was Ibuprofen for the inflammation, lortabs for the pain and clonidine for the blood pressure. They could've sent the nurse and the CAT scan chic home with me to help out. |

| UPDATE
The doctor told me today that I get to stick around and irritate the shit out of all of you for awhile yet. Blood pressure was great today and he set me up on my med scrip. Now if I can solve one more problem, I'll see all of you in Orlando for sure. |
