Your website is superb!! Probably the best I've seen for those figues

I picked up a Tusken Raider I had to hand and you've not got it though (vary dark brown belt etc, non-hollow cheeks).

You need to try harder!! Joking :cool laugh:

Serious question...aren't you worried you'll never stop finding variants? Surely there must be 100's really for each figure?

Great work!!

Hi Søren, thanks for all the kind words.

Hi I am your father, are you my father :?: lol!

I have never thought about I would never stop finding variants. But I think in about 30 years I will still be collecting. I don't think there is 100 variants of each figure. It is very hard to find a variant between the POTF figures.

But thanks for the kind words, I hope you can use the information I have found and placed on my site.

Hi Lars,

Your website has grown a lot since my last visit. Nice! Very Happy

I browsed through some of the sections, Will do the others at another moment.

Some questions:

Warok:

You mention two variants for Warok's quiver. What is the difference? I can see that the arrows in the top quiver are dented, compared to the arrows in the bottom quiver.

pomse2001 variants - Page 3 Warok%2020

pomse2001 variants - Page 3 Warok%2027

Lando General:

Interesting difference between the hair cuts. I think the differences are too small to label these as two distinct variants, probably they both fell within the bandwidth of small differences which are inherent to the fact that these figures were hand painted. Maybe the spray mask was applied a bit differently by an internal?
Alternatively these differences might be consistent throughout the line, and in that case we are talking two small variations here.

Please allow me to make some remarks which might help to make your site even better:

You describe your figures in this way:
Walrus Man with Blue/Black Stormtrooper Blaster (Variant 1) (Stamp Version 1) (©️ G.M.F.G.I. 1978 Hong Kong).
Walrus Man with Blue/Black Stormtrooper Blaster (Variant 2) (Stamp Version 1) (©️ G.M.F.G.I. 1978 Hong Kong).
Walrus Man with Blue/Black Stormtrooper Blaster (Variant 3) (Stamp Version 1) (©️ G.M.F.G.I. 1978 Hong Kong).
Walrus Man with Blue/Black Stormtrooper Blaster (Variant 4) (Stamp Version 1) (©️ G.M.F.G.I. 1978 Hong Kong).
Walrus Man with Blue/Black Stormtrooper Blaster (Variant 5) (Stamp Version 1) (©️ G.M.F.G.I. 1978 Hong Kong).
Walrus Man with Blue/Black Stormtrooper Blaster (Variant 6) (Stamp Version 2) (©️ G.M.F.G.I. 1978 Hong Kong).

and so on...

To me it was a bit confusing and I thought figure variants were linked here with different weapon moulds/colours. I would separate them. First a list of different figure variants based upon (in that order):
- COO stamps, (I think it is good to link to the numbers used in Wolff's guide, though it is not complete yet)
- other mould differences [e.g. Han small and big head],
- different paint apps [e.g. Luke Farmboy, blond and brown hair]).

So you will get something like this (just a phantasy example, I did not check whether the paint variations really correspond to the COOs)

Walrusman
Variant 1: COO version 1: ©️ G.M.F.G.I. 1978 Hong Kong, paint variation: white tusk, small eyes
Variant 2: COO version 1: ©️ G.M.F.G.I. 1978 Hong Kong, paint variation: white tusk, big eyes
Variant 3: COO version 2: ©️ G.M.F.G.I. 1978 Hong Kong, paint variation: light green head
variant 4: COO version 3: scarred out no COO, paint variation: dark green head. Remark: PBP

and so on

Then discuss the different weapons separately, linking to the terminology used in TIG's weapon guide.

Walrusman came with the following imperial blasters
- Imperial blaster variant V1 Black
- Imperial blaster variant V2 Blue
- Imperial blaster variant V2 Black/Blue
- Imperial blaster variant V3 (came with figure variant X)

and so on

A group shot of the different weapon types will help next to the close ups which are already on your site.

When you are sure a specific figure variant is linked to a specific type of weapon you can mention that in the weapons discussion (see example above). The PBP/Ledy weapons come into mind here. Otherwise I would just leave it.

I hope you might find this useful.

Cheers and keep on the good work! cheers

Hi Marco, thanks for the kind words mate.

I must say that I don't think all is correct with my ROTJ and POTF collection. That is why I have not maid links to them on post 1 yet and I also need to take new pictures and change the text on those figures.

About the difference on the Warok's quiver. It is the front arrow it is a little bit different than on the other quiver. I will try to take some better pictures and and place some arrows with some text on the pictures.

You have to look at them for a long time before you see it. It is a very little detail, but it is there.

About Lando Calrissian, yes it is a little detail but I think it is funny to see they are painted different on the head/hair. About the spray mask, I do not know anything about that, but it could be a reason Very Happy

I have also found paint difference on the hair on those figures Very Happy

Warok Quiver: Good idea to post some close ups once you have some time. Maybe we are just looking at small dfferences caused by weathering of the used steel moulds during the production lifetime.

Small differences in the way the hair paint is applied can be indeed be consistent and used to dintinguish different variants.
See the examples below:

Hi again marco, thanks for all the ideas Very Happy

I only want to help, so if I could make it easy'er for you guys then I would maybe change some of it, when I get the time.

I try to place most of the text on the pictures, unless it is a coo variant. I also try to place the same coo variants together.

But you are right that I do not need to write Walrus Man with Blue/Black Stormtrooper blaster all the time Embarassed

About weapon variants I have not done much about that yet. I have just placed the weapons I have with the figures. I really do not know if that kind of color of weapon is for that figure. But I have a plan to use the tig weapon guide to that in the future. But first I have to ID the figures.

About make a link to numbers used in Wolff's guide. That is not something I think I will do at the moment. I have coo that he does not have in that guide and what if he delete that guide in the future ? maybe I should make my own coo guide ? I have all ready tried to make one but I think it is difficult with the programs that I have.

I also have plans to take one pictures with all the variants on one pictures so people can see the difference. But it can be a problem if I have 20 variants or more of the same figure lol!

Thanks again mate for the support and kind words.

Oh really cool, I did not know that. But I don't think my figures is rare and I also don't think you find many lili ledy figures in my collection.

I use your lili ledy guide to try to spot them in my collection. But I have had only a little bit of luck.

I also have begun to place company names with the figures when I know which company the figures came from or which card they came from.

Thanks mate, nice to know it helps.

To all you guys I have updated Princess Leia Organa (Bespin Gown) with another variant and added Lumat.

I have also placed Kenner, Lili Ledy and Tri-logo logos on both Lumat figures so you guys can see what card the figure can be found on. What do you think about my new idea ? and do you have other idea's to make it better ?
