You're right! The 5 pictures on the top row are the Kenner ones submitted by Yeah-sus. I'm sure that either Marco or Paul will amend it.

IMPERIAL TIE FIGHTER

Artwork by Ralph McQuarrie.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

US. Kenner. SW. TIE Fighter. LP Logo.

Pictures made by Pauli (aka RS member SydSwans).

US. Kenner. SW. TIE Fighter. Special Offer with Darth Vader and Stormtrooper Figures.

Pictures made by…

US. Kenner. SW. Imperial TIE Fighter. Without LP Logo.

Pictures made by…

US. Kenner. German Issue. SW. Imperial TIE Fighter. Issued with German instructions. Non tape-sealed box.

Pictures made by Bonglee23

Note: This version is a US Kenner German issue complete with German instructions. It comes as a non tape-sealed box. The box was originally shrink-wrapped unlike its other counterparts, hence no tape or tape residue across the opening flaps. The box contents are the same as the US version.

US. Kenner. ESB. Imperial TIE Fighter.

Pictures made by Dr Dengar.

Canada. Kenner Canada. SW. TIE Fighter.

Canada. Kenner Canada. ESB. TIE Fighter.

Pictures made by…

UK. Palitoy. SW. TIE Fighter. Palitoy Sticker on Kenner Box.

Pictures made by…

France. Meccano. SW. Chasseur TIE.

Pictures made by Stéphane Faucourt (Chiquetaba).

Box front:

Contents: *note* the instruction sheet included in this box is the 'Meccano' version

France. Meccano. SW. Chasseur TIE Standard.

Pictures and description from Stéphane Faucourt (Chiquetaba).

Issued by Kenner BUT with a French 'TIE CHASSEUR STANDARD' sticker across the nameplate and a French white 'Miro-Meccano' sticker at the bottom of the box.

*Background notes* MECCANO Star Wars "Guerre des Etoiles" toys kept their SW/GDE packaging during the whole SW-ESB era until late 1982, thus the TIE Fighter only existed in GDE packaging.

A previous version of the US Kenner box with French stickers included the regular 'Meccano' instruction sheet as seen in the Meccano TIE CHASSEUR box. The box in Stephane's photo below actually comes with two instruction sheets! Note that the French instruction sheet has now changed from the 'Meccano' version to a 'Miro-Meccano' version. In addition to this there is also a Kenner issued German instruction sheet 'TIE JAGER'. Many French issued boxed items often came with two instruction sheets... the original and a French version. It is not surprising to see a German one included here since Meccano also distributed to French-German border areas... as seen with the "Krieg der Sterne" Minicinex viewer.

Box front:

Contents:  *note* the change of logo on instruction sheet to 'Miro-Meccano'

To sum up... this particular edition of the TIE Fighter is a KENNER American toy, imported to be sold in Germany, then finally imported and sold in France - that's quite a journey for a toy in the 1980s  Cool

Brazil. Glasslite. POTF. Nave Interceptadora.

Please send us your pics if you have the other versions of the TIE Fighter in your collection.

Emiel, great to see your cool Wampa run! Thanks for sharing the pics here Cool

love the bit of info:

"NOTE: This was the first released box for Wampa, starring Rebel Commander because there was no Luke Hoth figure at that time."

I love how Kenner were never afraid to improvise lol.
