I remember reading Gus Lopez's forward to his prototype book where he thanks his wife for letting him spend 3 months salary on his first Rocket Fett. That's pretty much the exact same scenario that i went through, thankfully, I had no wife to explain it to. This Rocket Firing Boba Fett has made it into limelights a few times before, but after a recent conversation with a friend, I realized that i had a bunch of provenance in a file that I've never had the idea to share. The thing that's awesome about these documents is that they really tell a story that not many Star Wars collectors have had a chance to hear. I think they represent a really cool insight into early Kenner from someone who was there. So i went ahead and scanned them...for you. I have a few other things in the file that i received with the Fett, like 2 Action Figure News and Toy Review issues that this particular figure was photographed for, a pretty great bill of sale documenting the history of the piece and even a polaroid taken by a microscopic camera on the inside of the rocketpack taken by a dentist who had the equipment. They didnt make it to the scanner, but these letters did. So for the first time ever, here they are on TIG first! I've blacked out the names to protect the identities of the authors out of respect for their privacy. Please enjoy. First is a letter of authenticity signed by the Kenner employee: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Next is a 3 page story about some of his experiences at Kenner: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Last is a hand written letter authenticating the four sided rocket from another source: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and here is the piece: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Hope you guys like it. best, D

I don't know... I still think it's fake. I mean anyone can drum up that letter. Seriously Dylan! That's awesome!!!!! How cool to have that provenance to go with that figure. That's just an incredible read and story. I loved that letter!!! Seriously, thank you for sharing that is just to cool. It also serves as a reference to newer collectors on finding out the history of these pieces you own. You just can't overlook provenance especially when buying something of this caliber.

Haha. Thanks guys. Wolff, Boba's actually been in my collection for a few years, just after a conversation with Steve Dwyer yesterday, I realized that I should really share the provenance letter, because people would probably appreciate it. I dunno what's next, but whatever it is, i hope it's cheap. (no chance)

I had a chance to read the letter(s) more closely and I LOVE the figure even more now. I think the letter was written with so much description that is just adds to the historical value that much more! Really glad you posted them Dylan. : )
