I also want to attend street markets in Spain! cheers

Interesting Luke Tatooine figure variant in all circumstances all though I agree with Marco, that this variant is most likely a mixed up/hybrid figure. Smile The head could easily be a Kenner overstock part, since it seems very similar to the US dark brown haired Kenner Luke Tatooine head - including the paint "deformation" on the right side on the head.

Thanks very much for sharing this figure with us Ricardo, and if you should find another sample please let me know! Wink

Thank you Ackbar for posting detail pics of your Spanish brown hair Luke.

The head seems to be the same as in my figure, including the mould deformation.
That is a good sign. Very Happy

It is almost one year ago when the new POCH/PBP discussion thread was started here on TIG....Time flies when you are having fun. Very Happy

Personally I have learned a lot from the discussions in the past year, and I hope you do so as well.

To reflect this the introduction in the first post has been completely revised.
Moreover links have been added to posts from members discussing POCH/PBP figures, so it is very easy to find this info from now on

Completely New Introduction

OK time to relax for me right now, been sitting behind the PC way too long now. drinking2

Cheers

Marco

Wow look at the size of the eyes on the yoda on the right in the top pic and the left one on the second pic Shocked , if thats a common poch/PBP trait then that would make em quite easy to spot on ebay.

a really great and informative thread guys, even though i don't post much on here, i really enjoy reading and learning about the different poch/ PBP variant discussions. Your work is greatly appreciated. A big thanks to everyone that contributes to this thread, and huge kudos to Marco for summarising and organising all the newly discovered info into clear and easy to find links and summaries. TIG is by far the best source of reference on all things vintage on the whole of the interweb cheers cheers cheers

This thread is called "the poch/pbp guide & discussion thread"..... this is not a figure but it is poch 100% I am sure.

I hope you like it, this is the easier ship but still hard to find...

more figures coming soon, I still have some left like the rebel soldier poch with iridiscent weapon

Hi Ackbar100, congrats on the PBP/Poch X-Wing bow It's a great version and one that I'd like to add one day to my own collection.

If you have the time would you like to add some more pics to our TIG thread: Project Outside The Box

Project Outside The Box has a cool X-Wing section X-Wing Fighter but we only have two pics so far for the PBP/Poch entry.

thanks Smile

The three Spanish Yoda's are amazing Ricardo! Shocked Almost mint and all are complete. I'm still missing the grey/light green early Poch variant and a cane for my PBP/LL dark green head Yoda.

The X-Wing is awesome too. I belive to recall, that Jota had a boxed one for sale at some point within the last year or so in Spanishstuff.com. I of course don't know, if this is the same item? But it looks really great in all circumstances. CONGRATS!! Very Happy

Marco you're truely doing an incredible job with the Poch/PBP thread. cheers If it wasn't for your hard work, this thread would be dead and burried long time ago!

It's much easier to navigate in all the posts now, and your summary of the production process of the Spanish produced figures & imported figures is very clear and highly informative. Besides that all the content is easy to read and understand - also for newer variant collectors I could imagine... Very Happy

Hey guys

I don't add much to this thread (I leave it to you smart folks) but Marco asked me to post my Hammerhead MOC. They figure is turned around, so the COO can be 100% confirmed. It's just GMFGI 1978 on one leg, the other blank.

Thanks for posting these pics, John! Very Happy

So it seems that the PBP 45-backs came with PBP's own produced Hammerhead figures (scarred out COO).

Still, is it possible that the 45-backs also came with (imported) Hammerhead figures having a HK COO? unsure

How else can we explain a Kenner Hammerhead popping up in a Spanish childhood collection? (see below)

Maybe both Class III and IV figures were released on PBP 45-backs?
First Class IV then Class III (when PBP started to produce these Cantina Aliens on their own?)
Just brainstorming here...

Would be nice to have some input on this....

that's what I got from a local childhood collection in Spain.

Was this figure imported??? I not sure but I think so.... sorry Dr. Dengar, I can not add light to this.

Thank you Ackbar for posting pics of the Hammerhead and Rebel Soldier. Links to both posts have now been made on page 1.

With regards to your Hammerhead from a Spanish childhood collection. It looks like a normal Kenner figure to me. Supporting the theory this figure was imported by PBP (Class IV).

But the figure also has some marks (neck and butt area). Are these meltmarks?  If so, it is good to realise that meltmarks are not exclusve for PBP, these sometimes occur on Kenner figures too. Still, we can not exclude the possibility that this figure was sonic welded by PBP, causing the marks to appear. In that case it would probably be a Class II figure (as the paint of the figure does not differ from a Kenner figure). unsure

Would be good to have more pics of Hong Kong COO Hammerheads from Spanish childhood collections.

@ Ackbar: Your POCH Rebel Soldier looks the same as the one described by Wolff. Typical is the very white paint on the trousers, and the smaller bar on the chest emblem. Your figure has all these traits! cheers

http://swspaceclub.com/wbobafett/poch-variants/rebel-soldier/

Also typical POCH: The top of the legs which are not painted white, so you can still see brown plastic there (see pic below). Kenner figures can also have white painted legs but the top of the legs are painted then as well.

About the rare blue metallic Bespin blaster. I had the idea that this gun came with some of the later released figures, like the dark brown PBP Rebel Soldier.
How sure are you that this gun originally belonged to the POCH Rebel Soldier?

@FC: Can you check your Rebel Soldier for the absence of white paint on top of the legs pls?  Just curious whether you found a Kenner or POCH figure in the UK.

Hi Dr Dengar, I totally agree with you. It seems a kenner one everywhere. I have not been able to find any difference compared to others figure from US.  With this sort of figures is impossible to confirm anything that's why in my post I didn't say it was a poch one, I just said that I found it in Spain -which it is true-. Regarding melt marks, you are right again, they don't mean this is figure is a pbp one but how the marks were in the figure I just wanted to showed them but again, no comments for my side to convince anybody about origin. My goal was just share pictures from a figure that I own and they  could be interesting for the rest of the forum. yes, sires, I am not able to prove anything with this figure  and I don't even going to try. By the way, I don't know why but I can not add smile facesssssss wrote:

Hi Dr Dengar,
if you check carefully the fourth picture you will note that the leg has not been painted internaly anyway here you are another picture to clarify.
Regarding the weapon, I got this figure from a collector and it came with this weapon, I mean, this figure wasn't from a street market nor friend. I can not give you an asnwer to your query. Sorry for this.   Very Happy:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Hi Dr Dengar, I have been asking around to spanish poch/pbp carded figures collectors that I know. It seems you are right, any Imperio carded figure has surfaced with a metallic blue blaster inside so far. Due to that, we can confirm by 99% that those weapons were only available on 65 back Retorno. Having in mind this, now I can say that my poch RS doesn't much with its weapon :-( I am afraid I have to toss them to the garbich :-)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Dr Dengar wrote:
