I don't collect but I owned a full series 1 set as a kid, I agree they are cool.

Unfortunately I sold them on eBay about 5 years ago. Hopefully a collector is looking after them.

Great collection. I have a some of the TSR adverts on my site
TVTA Dungeons & Dragons but nothing for the LJN action figures yet - didn't realise were so many or that they were so colourful. Thanks for sharing cheers

Love the D&D line of toys. Been thinking about collecting some for a long time now. I only had Nightmare and warduke as a kid. Got them in a set, when I had a stint in hospital as a child.

lol!
It is a cool line. I have to admit it has been very hard to restrain myself. Maybe it's the missus threat of cutting off my balls if I start collecting anything else

* Having said that...if you ever come across big lots for cheap and you want to unload any extra's that don't fit in your collection...I am sure I can find a place to hide them around here. Razz

Interesting line & great collection James. I don't remember ever seeing it at retail, but looking through the pics I definitely had a loose Zarak as a kid. I guess I must have got it in a trade. unsure
What year were these first released?

Such a great collection and I also have a complete set of the first series including the 2 versions of Melf. My one with the blue shield is still moc and you're the only other person I've seen that has one. Just wondered if you have any info on it as I can't really find anything about it?

So good to see them all in one hit!

Glad you like the collection - it is deffinitely my favorite collection out of all the lines I collect Very Happy

I really don't know anything for sure on the Melf variants but , if I had to guess , I would say that the brown shield / lighter skined version was released in 1st series packaging and the blue shield / darker skined version was released in 2nd series packaging .

Another possibility would be that they could have been made at different factories ?

I need to get the figures out and check for different coo stamps and look into it a little further . I just picked up another 2nd series Battlematic Zarak and I need to compair it to the one in my collection to see which is nicer . While I have the figures out I will look at some details on them .

I also need to add pics of a Grimsword variant I stumbled across while I was looking through my extras What a Face

Thanks for the info although the MOC with blue shield I have is a series 1 card (although it's packed away at the moment and I'm not sure if all the series 2 ones have red or blue card fronts as mine is the same as series 1 as best I can remember it). Maybe it's a european one as the only other one I've even seen was sold on ebay years ago in France. It will be good to hear if there's any coo difference and I'll look forward to seeing the other pictures when you get the chance.

I have a couple from series 2, Deeth and Ogre King SS and I'm probably stopping with my collection here as it was only series one I had as a child (and I don't have the space!). Great collection of yours though and I'll be looking over your collection from time to time to see them all in their glory!

Nice to see the pictures and I notice on the blue shield one that the bolts are painted blue and not silver. Nice black lever as well, it's the little differences that keep us happy! Very Happy
