Interestingly, Mark_Yeo's Glasslite Kez-Iban has a slightly different paint "error/trait" on his left leg!

Tig Fromm

NOTE:
Kenner was the only licensee to release Tig Fromm COO (no. 1), therefore no other figures are available for comparison.

ACCESSORIES:
The Kenner Tig Fromm came with a V2 2-1B Staff, currently the TIG weapons guide only shows the V1 (No EPM). The V2 can also be found with the 2-1B action figure however the Droids issued staff is a DARKER silver.

Boba Fett

NOTE:
Kenner was the only licensee to release Boba Fett COO (no. 1), therefore no other figures are available for comparison.

*IMPORTANT NOTE* Before anyone screams you've missed the HK Boba Fett, have I?

Whilst there are several known examples of the Hong Kong Boba Fett (Identified by the brown belt) on Droids cards, these card backs have MADE IN TAIWAN on the reverse. The only known example to my knowledge of a HONG KONG Boba Fett on a MADE IN HONG KONG card is the toy fair sample shown on the Star Wars Collectors Archive web-link http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=48836

There are many known examples of over-stocked figures shipped to other licensees to fulfil production demands. So is this the case with over-stocked Boba Fett figures from HONG KONG shipped to TAIWAN?

Lets not forget the numerous mis-carded figure/accessory combinations that exist.

So until a HONG KONG Boba Fett turns up on a MADE IN HONG KONG Droids card back we should consider this....The only "TRUE" Droids Boba Fett is the TAIWAN variant.

The Kenner Boba Fett came with a V5 Dark Grey/Black imperial blaster, this can be found with or without the small EPM on the magazine, which is shown circled on the last photo.

Vlix

NOTE:
The Glasslite Vlix has the same COO (no. 1) as the Poon Reproduction figure which is used below for comparison.

The Poon Vlix figure was moulded from an original Vlix figure along with the Glasslite hoth rifle. Whilst they are very easy to spot in hand, from a photograph buyers could easily be deceived as both figures have the same COO markings.

Vlix: Glasslite on the right

Vlix: Glasslite on the right

Vlix: Glasslite on the right

Vlix: Poon centre

DIFFERENCES:
Compared to his Poon counterpart, the Glasslite Vlix has:

- Shoulders are raised
- Lighter blue torso/arms and legs
- Darker green head
- Thinner eyebrows
- Lighter blue mouth & eyebrows
- Lighter red paint ops on face (note these appear as semi-circles on the GL figure)
- Peg Holes in the feet
- Melt marks to between thighs
- Thinner shoe soles
- Limbs are not pegged!

ACCESSORIES:
The Glasslite Vlix came with a shiny Hoth Trooper Rifle V3 compared to the Poon V3, which I believe was moulded from a Glasslite original.

Vlix: Poon Rifle water test

Vlix: Glassslite & Poon Rifles water test

WATER TEST:

- Both Rifles when placed on water float
- Both Rifles sink when tapped

DIFFERENCES:
Compared to his Glasslite counterpart, the Poon Vlix Rifle is:

- Less shiny
- Missing the two flashing marks on the top of the rifle
- Shorter in length (due to shinkage?)
- Visable crack line on the rifle butt
- Part of the butt is missing (cut off short?)
- Bent when viewed from above

EXTRA:
Comparision photos showing the Glasslite Vlix V3 compared to Glasslite Hoth Trooper V3.

Glasslite Rifle: Vlix Black / Hoth Trooper Blue

- Underside of Belt should be painted, original example had playwear.
- Melt marks between the thighs are typically present

Hello all,
I've lurked for awhile and am just starting to post.  Does anyone know if the Droids, Ewoks, and Power of the Force catalog mailer sets actually exist?  They were offered in both the JC Penney and Montgomery Wards 1985 catalogs.  I have never seen them on Ebay.  Do you think that Kenner planned to sell them and then canceled the orders?  If they do exist are they in the white mailer boxes with Return of the Jedi stickers or did they develop a new sticker for Ewoks, Droids, and POTF?

PostSubject: VINTAGE STAR WARS MAIL AWAY ATL    Sat May 31, 2014 1:22 pm

Hi Everyone,
I bought a mail away ATL today. It comes in a plain white mailer box with cardboard insert, toy, decal sheet, instructions and mini catalogue. Toy is mint but decals have been applied.

I have bought and sold ALOT of vintage star wars over the years, but I have never seen one of these.

Anyone seen or had one and have a clue on value?

Thanks,
Rich (richierichcollectables)
