PostSubject: Price check help   Fri Oct 23, 2015 3:33 pm

Guys I am looking for a prototype vlix (not the glasslite but the prototype).  I know glasslites are selling for big money and recently came into one, and now want the kenner prototype to go with it.  I don't even know how many are around and haven't seen one in forever, but I am just gathering what a price of one would be right now.

James Gallo is the expert on everything Vlix so he'd be the guy to ask. A few years back I recall reading that there were between 25-35 of the US pre production Vlix. Not sure if that number has been refined since and is any higher or lower nowadays but it probably gives you a reasonably good idea. It's one of the more abundant first shots out there but a popular one and quite expensive.

Thanks Oli. I spoke to James before but have apparently lost the messages. I don't recal the numbers but the glasslite known numbers if I recall was around 100 or so I believe and the number carded was considerably less. Seems like your close to what he said for the Kenner proto. I want to say it was in the mid twenties. I sent him another message but as of yet haven't heard from him regarding this. With glasslite as high as they have been I am assuming that a Kenner would run around 5-6k, but I really don't know. The only threads on price I could find are well over four years old and they give a glasslite value and a Kenner value with difference of $1.5-2 higher for the Kenner. More glasslites have surfaced I am assuming in the last few years, but I doubt more Kenner did.

Yes you'd assume the Kenner pre production version would sell higher. Some of the more common UDE's are selling around $5k right now. Vlix is one of the relatively more common ones but it's also the most iconic and well recognised. It wouldn't surprise me if it was selling higher.

Although I guess you should take into consideration the Glasslite version has a unique weapon so a complete one may be closer in price. I don't know just guessing here though.

With there being a fair few out there, condition is the big factor on price.

Another price check. How much is a ledy fett cardback worth. Just the cardback not the figure. This one is in fantastic shape with good picture and not much tearing and the bubble was cut away not torn off. Also the 1978 ledy r2d2. I know these are rare and have been offered some at prices out of my range, but I want one and am looking for one.

Andy having just looked through the sold auctions on ebay it looks like the majority counting shipping sold from anywhere between $60 to $80 usd with a few outliers on each side. Some of the lowest ones were yellow limbed and scuffed hair while some of the higher ones were super white and from front pic looked decent paint apps. I did not open the auctions to see further pics.

I don't know if all of ebay in every country is set up the same. On the left side on ebay site I use if you scroll down you will see these options. If you click completed it shows sold and unsold all together, if you click sold it shows sold only items. Also click worldwide on the side and it shows items from other countries that are listed on those countries ebay site.

Glad I could help. Not very computer literate so I have limited knowledge, but when I do have something useful I am happy to share that info. Using sold auctions is really the only way to figure a median price these days as everything seems nuts pricewise.

Andy, I figured I would add that if you win the movie game, I have a loose luke stormie with no helmet or blaster in pretty good condition that I can use as one figure to make a loose lot. I put that on page 1 of the game from the start so I cant offer it for sale at the moment as it is part of a prize if someone chooses that option.

The last few I've seen in person in stores/ conventions were $100-125 complete with original, vintage accessories (and minty).

It could be because of how convention prices are almost always rip offs...but to me I think that seems about right.

No accessories I'd clock at $75-85.
