Answer is posted with the question... Some of the names of these characters never appeared in the original theatrical releases and were added only after the EU fans created them.  It wasn't until the Special Editions that his name was added to the credits simply as Zev... his last name could only be found thru Wookiepedia! Smile  That was alot of fun... hope you all had a great Halloween evening and didn't get mauled by any demons or vampires!  Until next week... try not to go into a sugar coma! Smile

Well it's Monday, and we all know what that means... it's TRIVIA TIME!  That's right... This week is gonna be a good one... I will be highly surprised if anyone gets this one! Smile  Getting tougher and tougher to come up with questions to stump you all especially those who have been around from the beginning!  But here's your chance to shine!  It's not a well known piece of trivia here and the answer can be found in the behind the scenes interviews with Lucas himself.  But, just remember the rules... no cheating for the answer by doing a google search!  You can watch  the movies and DVDs but that's the only help you can get here!  So without further ado... here we go!

Question 63: In the earliest outlines for the sequel, what was Yoda originally called?

Answer:

First Correct Answer: NONE

Oh I think I know this one.
Wasn't he going to be called Minch, or something like that, I remember reading about it somewhere.

Can you just imagine if that name had stuck... such great quotes like "Buffy, you seek Buffy" or "You must go to the Dagobah system, there you will find Buffy, the Jedi Master who trained me"... just kinda blows your mind! Smile

Well it's that time of the week again and you all know what that means by now... that's right it's TRIVIA TIME!  This week should be another toughie!  Remember... no cheating by using the internet to find your answers... but you can go back over the videos or actually read the books.  We're all talking about a movie that's been out  for 40 years here people... something that has seeped into every nook and cranny of our culture.  If you can't do the leg work without the internet you're not a fan in my opinion! LOL  So without further ado... here's this week's brain stumper!

Question 64:
What does the name "Yoda" mean?

Answer:

First Correct Answer: Craig T

This is pure speculation on my part but I imagine it must have something to do with being wise, or a wise being.

Ooh "nice-wan" Schwartz... your probably on to a good guess there. But, I think our beloved quiz show host has a trick up his sleeve, so I have been pondering it for a little bit.

I'm going quote Luke from the ESB... I had ESB on VHS for years as a Kid so probabally watched that movie more than any of the others... he says (dissing Yoda) "I'm looking for a great warrior, Yoda replies with: "wars don't make one great" so he not denying he's not great, lol, just that he didn't need wars to become great warrior, he was already top dog.

I going to with great warrior, with all the Japanese influcence Lucus had with Darth and Obi, Yoda by default has to be one of them too, so reckon yodas were actual first rate warriers back in the day in ancient Japan. I'm leaving the "great" in "great warrior" due to the tricks Lucus played with us viewers... yoda being small, you would never think he could open a can of whoop ass like he did in AOTC...

Excellent Points Craig. I was trying to decide between warrior or wisdom because those are both traits that represent Yoda (for me at least). Looking forward to confirmation from our Quiz show host.

I'll guess it's a play on the word 'Yoga' which in Sanskrit means to 'connect', 'join', 'attach' - as in the force.

Hey Schwartz, yeah agree with your thinking too, then I thought of Lrdsatyr8 - it always not the answer that immediately comes to mind. Then I thought of Yoda... "Judge me by my size do you?" I thought... it has to be about his inner great warrior beast ... rah!

Paul.. Ha ha! I didn't think of that. Good one too well there's 3 answers!!!

I'm gonna' go down the wisdom trail and take a guess that it's someone "who knows."

Maybe not knows all, but knows a great deal.
