PostSubject: Help Identifying Lili Ledy Figures (Boba Fett RR??)   Fri Apr 01, 2016 12:50 pm

Hi, First proper post I believe. I hope this is in the right place, but I'm sure someone (moderator) will afford me newbie uncertainty...

I think I have some Lili Ledy Figures, but obviously not 100% sure.
Have looked at lots of images within TIG forum, particularly for Boba Fett.
Is this a genuine Removeable Rocket Boba Fett?

See pics below.

I'm 90% sure I DON'T HAVE/OWN a Lili Ledy Imperial Blaster V6 (either v3 or v7 Squared off, flat sided clip).
I am 100%  sure I have a v2 Blue/Black with him at the moment. This is the blaster that came with him, when my brother picked it up.

The story goes, as much as I can remember, my brother (works in London for Latin American Travel Agency, Journey Latin America) was over in Mexico around 1999. He picked a few figures up on his travels.

I purchased lots more different figures from the flea-Bay over the years, 2003 onwards (Became eBay member 02 Dec 2003), but always looked out for advice from collectors (I know this is new but you get what i mean, 'blog.theswca.com/p/staff-page.html').

Can I post a few more pics of Boba and help some of you to try and identify for me.
I would not like to post/sell figures unless I know what they are.

Thanks.
Taz

Some more...

As I said, I'm thinking of selling a number of figures and thought that this may be the best place...But wanted to get advice first, then I sell with an intact conscience.
I've definitely bought from eBay in the past and been stung...stupid I know, but lots of unscrupulous people out there sadly.

Thanks for your patience with someone who is v v v new to this...
It took me 6 attempts at posting pictures,
Taz

It is a ledy. Take a pic of the pack inside if you can get it. I don't have a ton of time so I will look a bit more detailed later. Something is off on the rocket I think, but not sure. Is that area on the rocket opposite the tab discolored or dirty or what?

The mark on the rocket is 180┬░ from the tab. Looking at OZIO's guide, my tab looks/sounds like:
OZIO SAYS
"The big difference between a regular LL Boba Fett and a Removable Rocket Boba Fett is; the rocket.
On a Regular LL Boba Fett, the tab on the rocket is inserted on a hole and another tab holds firmly the rocket inside the figure, after the welding process everything melts a bit so there's no way to take it out without damaging the figure and the rocket, that's why an original LL RR Boba Fett has a complete, clean, undamaged rocket with complete, undamaged tab, even if the rocket was inserted and taken out several times.
Rocket must be complete and have no melt marks at all, especially on the opposite side of the tab"

Although mine has a melt mark, everything else seems like OZIO's guide.
Other thing is, there are no melt marks, blue or red residues on the inside...
But I agree, the rocket is not clean, looks damaged and not quite right... Which is why I want as much opinion about it as I can get.
Below are more pics... Sod it... Have them on iThingy. I'll replace them with jpg 2moro.
Thanks guys (Trapt Tex & R2Detour)

There is a post by Adolfo about some letters being inside of a lili ledy removable rocket fett. The same letters are in mine, and I had one that the rocket was forced out and they were not in that one. It isn't confirmed that all removable rocket fetts have these letters inside though as they are supposed to be errors and not intentional and the letters being inside a random fett that was mistakenly not welded would be small. Just curious if they are in yours. From the pic inside the pack I don't see any red left from the melting when sonic welded. The rocket however is questionable. A lot of kids lost rockets and a lot of real removable rocket fetts were paired with forced out removed rockets from beater figures. This could be what you have, but with the rocket having that damage there is no way that AFA would certify it and I don't think that is the original rocket to this fett if the fett is a removable rocket.

Since the rocket is damaged we move past that to determine if the figure is real. There is no way to remove the rocket from the fett without leaving some of the red residual plastic inside of the pack and the mold lines still be sharp and clean. This means that we need upclose shots of the pack inside. If it was forced and the inside has areas that look scraped or cleaned up to get rid of the red remnants then we have a figure that someone "made" to resemble a removable rocket.

You said the tab is where the arrow is pointing at the underside correct? This puts the damage directly opposite of the tab, which is how a rocket that was welded into place would look if removed. I just wanted to clarify this and make sure it is correct.

That's correct! A rocket welded into place...

Are they any good Bryan?

Can't see any letters per se...
I'm sorry if photos are not up to scratch

Shall post pictures using natural daylight tomorrow if that helps.

I''l post some other photos of my collection over at Vintg SW Limelights

Its not looking like a RR Fett though.

Thing is, I wasn't scam-bayed for this one, but I am a little impulsive when it comes (or now CAME) to trying to add to my collection.

I honestly think the figure may be authentic and paired with a rocket from a regular fett. I am on the iPad right now so can't zoom or crop the photos like my desktop but I will look closer at them tomorrow. Would be cool to get another opinion. Maybe AJ can chime in here.

I've dissected a Ledy fett Sad To me that's a Ledy Fett with rocket forced out, rocket is not Ledy IMO

Thanks for looking James. My bro, James, bought him from Mexico circa 1999.

I printed out the Galvez technical cards (Jawa, Fett and Squid Head) a long while ago. Fantastic reference stuff.

When you look at the rocket in-situ in my Fett, the mould mark (marca del molde) looks exactly the same.

Of course this is invaluable:
www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t5523p180-the-lili-ledy-guide-discussion-thread-part-2
The rocket in mine has the clicking sound.

But... Ozio's special on RR Fett says:

"As the rocket on a LL RR Boba Fett was inserted after the welding process, Rocket should not have any signs of melting or blue marks on it. The blue mark comes from the contact between the rocket and this inner tab on the front torso:

This is the position of the rocket with the tab inserted correctly:

As you can see the inner tab on the front torso holds the rocket on its place and that's why after the welding process that inner tab leaves a melt mark on the rocket, right on the opposite side of the rocket's tab. So a LL Rocket with a blue mark, or blue residues on the opposite side of the tab on the rocket comes from a regular LL Boba Fett.

So AJ. You think mine is a Ledy Fett (standard) & the rocket has been removed from another figure.
Thanks for the opinions guys

If I come to sell / try and sell it on TIG sale area, would I post it as a standard Ledy Fett, a Ledy Fett with an intriguing past, a real RR Fett without a rocket (Bryan's opinion upto now).
Would anyone give me an opinion of 'worth' or 'value' in this case, PLEASE.
Now I'm 100% sure I don't own a Ledy blaster as I've checked all figures with blaster, so this Fett is without a Ledy blaster.
