I recently picked up this fx-7, and the telescoping head extends all the way up, leaving a gap as in the photos. It can't stay up most of the time. Is the figure broken?

It will stay up extended all the way only at this position.

According to AJ, it's wear and tear from an old toy. I think it's wear and tear too. Just wonder why the thing doesn't pop off but still stays attached

There is a rivet in there, holding the head on. I can't find the thread where Wolff shows his non sonic welded one. And I can't find the pictures of the one I cut apart on the band saw.

The rivet seems to be the same as the ones in the backs of C-3PO & the DSD.

So the claws of the lower body is the one holding the head down.. so if the head doesn't hold up, means that the claws of the lower body are somewhat expanded. Am I correct?
