Guidelines for Posting in the Watch Out Section

When posting warnings about sellers in the Watch Out section where possible can you post pictures of the auction.

If you are not sure how to do this then just ask one of the Moderators or alternatively just post the eBay auction link and one of the Moderation Team will add the pictures and details to your post.

The reason behind this is eBay links go dead after 3 months where as the above method is permanent and will help users who look back at old threads in the future.

Regards Jay

23/03/10 Edit: We have also decided that to be fair to everyone, that outing a live auction is not permitted, so instead please post a picture of the item in question, rather than a link to the auction. If you do not know how to do this or need any help posting the picture, please contact Shawn_k or anyone else on the mod team and we will gladly help you out. If the said item is determined to be a fake/repro/scam, then we will allow it to be posted in order to alert other TIGers.

Excellent idea Jay. I'll make sure and do that in the future.

No probs Shawn i edited yours for you.

I just know when you use RS and go into the watchout section half the time you don't know who the seller was because the ebay link is dead and they didn't post the sellers name. frustrated :cool laugh:

Can i suggest that 'bad' sellers who are called out in the watch out section, be subject to amendment by mods. There have been more than a few cases recently on RS where sellers have been called out by others for relatively minor things, or simple misunderstandings/oversights. Once someone has been identified as bad to deal with, the damage is already done, & it is often irreparable.

I agree Tim the RS Watch Out section can certainly damage peoples reps. They should be put to a resolved status if the person comes good or something similar.

Im pretty sure he will buts its not an issue as we have various software to ban people if needed (I hope that is never the case but trolls do turn up from time to time i guess so its good to have the tools there).
