Guys I recently got a chewbacca that has COO #6 that i’ve Been trying to hunt for a while, is there anything special about COO #5 and #6? Are they from a particular country in Europe or moc’s? What about coo #9 , is there still a question this is Palitoy ?
Where in the website I can find more about those different coo’s in the coo Guide?
Wouldn’t it be good to have a little comment under each figure in the coo guide with what is known today for each coo that is shown? Even if it is still not 100% confirmed but whatever evidence is available?
Look forward to your comments ! Best

Blog Update #5 (13/03/2018)

Lost for words...

I was planning on following up on my previous post and showing some more rare MOC that I have seen floating around in the past few weeks; but I just had to bump that straight to the side lines and show off what has to be one of the most magnanimous gestures made to me.

Our hobby, like many high value pursuits, has many people who are in it for the wrong reasons and can at times lower you perceptions of our human race. However, thankfully, exceptionally stellar people come in to your life with nothing to gain for themselves and show you the reasons why you are in this hobby.

Unbeknown to both these gentlemen, I am I am having a tough time in work; my little guy has been unwell, so my wife and I are not getting enough sleep and bunch of other stuff that I won’t go in to.

So imagine the sudden huge smile on my bloodshot teary eyes, when I open an unexpected but neatly wrapped package from Argentina, outside the post office at 7am this morning on the way to work. This little force welding fella was inside.

It is something that I have wanted for a long time (Here's the proof!), but everyone I saw was either out of my reach or suspect. So, I have been waiting on a loved figure from an original childhood owner to complement my loose Luke Jedi and now I have one.

Words have literally escaped me all day; I have spent most of which looking at it, as it stood proudly on my desk:

I still don’t what to say other than a sincere Thank You to both Bryan @trappedtexan and Rodolfo @Fito who both worked together behind the scenes on a great deal that helped each other and meant that I could be sent a truly appreciated surprise.

I will look after it in my Luke Jedi archive until my dying days. cheers

Can't believe I'm about to admit this but I bet I'm not the only one - I have a spreadsheet with every figure, coo, accessory version etc... that I own Shocked , so these guides are crucial.

My coo's in the picture I posted (left to right) are #4, #5, #1, #1 & I don't have the vinyl catalogued yet but he should be a #1

Thanks for the link to the Jawa Coo's, I will have to take a closer look at mine...

My Wife and I put together spread sheets, but it was for our collection before a move... We got ripped off by movers one time, and we said never again... We basically had a sheet with a list of the contents on it and a number. The number matched the box and its contents... I would love to put together a list like yours, but I have a lot to learn regarding weapon and accessory variations and Coo's...

Er, yeah, perhaps "light blue" isn't the best description. I meant the smooth more intense blue (second from the left with the POTF smooth cape jawa).

Here's a bunch, and I'd describe them like this: (left to right)
1) very rough texture, dark blue/black, failed/ short pour bump (v4 on the guide)
2) smooth, "more intense" blue, no bump
3) smooth, dark greeny blue/black, no bump (transluscent green when backlit)
4) smooth, "more intense" blue, with bump
5) rough (but not as rough as 1), dark blue/black, with bump

@Danny - your moc looks looks like my #3 figure, and #4 weapon so I think I'll match those up, so thanks for your pictures!

Also, come to think of it, I know the VC Jawa didn't come with the more intense blue blaster, or the failed bump but I wonder whether the dark rough (#5) its currently with, or the translucent green (#3) would be more appropriate? I might open that up as a new thread...

Sadly I have no idea which of these actually came with the figures anymore. I just know my Vinyl and POTF came without weapons at all.

1. European Smooth Deleted no CoO 2L HK (TIG guide #5) light brown hair (a childhood ROTJ card, sadly lost later into adulthood)

2. China 3L HK (TIG guide #8) blonde hair. A strange one. An eBay purchase from Brianstoys way back, & he came with a more translucent DT saber, they said he couldn't be AFA graded so sold him as a DT-maybe. I subsequently sold No 6 (£85, private sale, less than I paid for him) before I used TIG/Rebelscum/Others, to identify 'Circles' variant.

3. 3L HK (TIG guide #6) with early 'Circles' DT saber

4. 2L HK (TIG guide #1) badly welded torso, darker brown translucent hair

5. 2L HK (TIG guide #1) brown hair
I used the old TIG guide:
http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/Vintage-Star-Wars-COO-Guide-h14.htm#Luke%20Skywalker%20-%20Original

And sorry, China now has a Repro DT saber, but it's NEVER leaving my collection.

A Both my #1 is Mould family II (single line LFL 1980) has the head ridge, the corresponding no CoO that I have do not. I would 'assume' as there are mould pairs this would include heads. But I suspect it is only found with this mould family. So dot & no dot is the body 'pair' head pair is ridge or no ridge.

B #2 LFL & HK two lines together familyIII

C #3&#5 Made in Hong Kongs family I

I noticed an ebay auction mentioning a short neck variant
There does seem to be a difference but not specific to a head mould.  The last figure is my childhood one & playwear has resulted in an extra long neck, which I had to jam a piece of paper in it to keep it extended  Laughing
I'm also dubious about a red vs orange eye 'variant'

DIFFERENCES:
Compared to his Kenner counterpart, the Ledy Teebo has:
- A shade lighter grey stripes on his body (hard to grasp by camera, unfortunately)
- Glossy instead of dull grey nose and eyes

An overview of the small COO variations found in Ledy Teebo figures is given below. Pictures were made by Ozio.

PAINT VARIATIONS:

Major Variations:
The Lili Ledy Teebo has a variant with brown eyes and nose. This figure appears with grey stripes that have the same intensity compared to a regular Ledy Teebo, or with a shade darker stripes (comparable to a no COO Teebo).
You can read more about this interesting variant in an upcoming entry in Ozio’s special report section.

REMARK:

The Lili Ledy Teebo is hard to distinguish from the Kenner no COO figure. Personally I think Teebo is the toughest figure to identify. But like that other tough figure (Ackbar) you have to look into their eyes.

If you plan to buy a Ledy teebo make sure you have a no COO Teebo at home for comparison. With both figures in hand, the differences are much more obvious. The eyes are different, and the stripes of the no COO Teebo are a bit darker.

To help you, I made a few more comparison shots, including the Taiwan figure. Notice the different eye colours.

ACCESSORIES

HOOD/SKULL:

Topics tagged under 5 on The Imperial Gunnery Forum Teebo_31

Did you know?
I always thought that Teebo was wearing the skull of a wild pig.
Today I actually learned that it is the skull of a Gurreck, a horned predator native to the Endor forests.
This little Ewok kills brute predators!!! My respect for Teebo has grown a lot today. Very Happy

DIFFERENCES:
Compared to his Kenner counterpart, the Ledy Emperor´s Royal Guard has:
- a darker red helmet.
- a matt black instead of glossy black visor.
- limbs and body which are cast in a darker red (a bit purple like) plastic.
- a darker red cloak made from a different fabric. At the inner side of the Kenner cloak you can clearly see the ribbon ("stripes") like pattern in the fabric, whereas these ribbons are lacking in the Ledy cloak.

NOTE: It might well be that the Ledy visors can also be glossy black. The appearance of matt and glossy black paint is also observed for other LL figures like Biker Scout (arms, legs) General Madine (boots), AT-ST driver (belt, boots), Leia Endor (boots).

VARIATIONS:

There is an interesting variant of the LL ERG cloak having the arm slit at the opposite side (left instead of right). See the pics below.

Lili Ledy ERG cloak variants having the arm slit at different positions.
Topics tagged under 5 on The Imperial Gunnery Forum Empero24

Only if you really want this you can apparently change the relative position of the arm slit yourself to create your own ´variant´. Don't sue me when this goes wrong. Very Happy
You can read more here.

ACCESSORIES

FORCE PIKE

The LL ERG carries a force pike having a V2 mould, which can be recognized by the little mould circles (as described in TIG's weapon guide). The Ledy pikes are cast in two shades of grey plastic: grey and dark grey.
Kenner also made V2 mould pikes, but like the V1 mould pikes these are cast in light grey plastic and are therefore different from the Ledy pikes.

REMARK: In the pic below a comparison is made between Ledy pikes (V2) and a Kenner pike (V1).
