| I'm still waiting for my Vader from BBTS, but that's because of the damn Canada Post strike here! However, it sounds like the mail should be moving again on Tuesday, so hopefully I'll be seeing it soon. |

Anyone know of any UK websites cheaper than Gentle Giant ? Tony Tony, Forbidden Planet have them for between £55-£70! http://forbiddenplanet.com/69886-star-wars-giant-retro-action-figure-jawa/ |

| A couple weeks back I bought a GG vinyl cape Jawa impulsively off of ebay, paying double the list. I was pissed at myself for a few days since I really didn't think I needed it and especially not at that price. I've since come around and pretty happy with my decision. The Jawa flat out rocks. I only wish they'd have left the SDCC sticker off of it. Why? One reason. Whoever designed this sticker decided to stretch horizontally the numerals in '2011'. As a graphic designer and a fan of Kenner packaging I'm offended by this. It shouldn't have been done as a matter of good taste and it would have never been done by a Kenner designer. Yeah, I know I could easily remove the sticker but then it would appear less complete and I'd probably have to sell it for less down the road! W/ my Vader (bought below list price and a couple other pals for reference... |

| indeed they are super super nice but i think this is really for the elite who really has money to throw away...but for the price of one of those i can get a bunch of real vintage figures, the way they were meant to be to begin with.
plus i would focus more on the real older vintage dolls... when i am done that is what i am gonna aim for...
maybe later when the prices are down for some of them, i would pick them up...right now they are more novelties than anything else..but that is just my opinion.... |

| Gentle Giant had the Android 3-pack (Gonk, R5-D4, Death Star Droid) for sale for $125 over the Father's Day weekend. I was tempted, but ultimately decided these don't fit in my collection focus. |

| I'm really surprised to find these have been in production for so long, but then before late last year, I was absent from collecting for a good long while. So I recently picked up a Villians 3 Pack since it cost the same as a single Vader, which is really the only reason I wanted it, that Vader would look sweet with my focus. But I can't believe how disappointed I was with these. Doesn't seem to be much interest with the lack of posts, but I'm curious what anyone else thinks.
i think they're really overpriced, or at least not worth the price. They feel cheap and lack authentic details. Essentially it's a $60 PVC figure with basic articulation, like a large Applause figure. And the details, I mean it's kind of funny to say I've got a Ledy DSC with his lack of silver paint on his wrists, but it's obviously not what's intended. It's just a lazy screw up. And the Vader, it might be asking too much but I really wanted a textured cape and a solid, semi-glossy lightsaber that is also straight. Instead, the cape reminds me of a shower curtain and the lightsaber is rubbery and impossible to hold straight. I didn't even ask for a lettered hilt, but that would have added extra sweetness.
I know this is really picky, but Gentle Giant does promote their attention to detail and authenticity. Then again, maybe they don't figure most people will open them. And they really do make a nice display, but where I had considered pursuing some other figures, I won't bother now. |

| When i first heard of these I was excited to get some also but the price put me off and as time has gone by, I am less and less enamored with them. I do find myself wanting a few gentle giant figures though, the super powers line Batman (if they have made it yet) and some of the large gi joes also look attractive. Especially if the gi Joe ones retain the articulation that joes had. Don't get me wrong, as a kid playing star wars I thought the 5 poa was ok, but in this day and age of the black series and marvel legends i expect a bit more out of my figures now. My memory of the Joe line was that it was way ahead of the time having gone from just legs, arms, and head articulation to also knees, elbows, waist, etc.. _________________________________________________ Bryan
