| Cool - now I have that awesome Stones song in me head! Nice thread John, and fun to learn how folk found their names. Now I know your name is your adjective all-rounder! Berizing! And that Mark's (DarthStanley) name has a football connection! I first registered my name over on RS, my real name is Paul and sometimes I'm called Ford (my middle name). For 'artoo detour' I always loved how R2D2 was a bit of a maverick in the films and often wandered away from C3PO to do his own thing. So I just made a play on the word 'deetoo' to 'detour'. _________________________________________________ Paul F,

| Hi guys, interesting thread, my real name is Dave but for the last 15 years or so i've become known by my nickname Vialli, simply because of my uncanny resemblance to the Italian professional footballer/manager Gianluca Vialli. |

| Apart from the obvious obsession with collecting vintage star wars figures, I also collect video games for the 8-byte NES system.
When I registered for ebay I used the name 8-bit_serket (as in 8-byte circuit)
So when I registered for TIG I just shortened it to serket.....tada!! |

| I had to choose a name back in 1997 for my 'house' (domain) at the Dutch equivalent of Geocities. As the girl I was hopelessly in love with back then was studying in South Africa at the time I chose 'Capetown'. Kinda silly but I stuck with it through the years. |

| Mine's an old gaming name thought up in the spur of the moment. Kept it for all forums etc i've used over the years. "Tank" is a football nickname as i often try to go thru players rather than around them. "12" & "52" are favourite numbers. |

The General part, simply because I think it sounds cool, General Kahn has been the name I have used as my game name for as long as I can remember, I used it as my Character name in the K.O.T.O.R games, which was cool in the second one because the character was a general and people referred to you as General. Aside from that my real name is Alex but everyone calls me Beard. I'm so glad someone else got scared by that scene when they were a kid. My mom had to take me out of the theatre because it freaked me out so badly. It was many years before I watched that movie all the way through. |

| When I first started on RS, I went by darkchild, from the comic of the same name. Then I ended up changing it 2 years or so later to the one I have now. Chris for my first name, J for my middle. Besides it looks better than A plus on RS I couldnt use the one I really wanted to use, Pornstar |

Now here's why I like threads like this, you learn something new!! Paul all this time I thought your name was taken from ROTJ. When C3PO is trying to get into Jabbas Palace he refers to R2 and himself as (forgive me trying to spell this) "Artoo Detoura and Say Threy Pay Oh Ah". It's right before the line "tuta misku Jabba du Hutt" _________________________________________________ SHEESH!!!!i am not raping anyones childhood!!!! - Darren P.S. | my gaming name has always been bantha, and I chose this based on the bantha skull which is a symbol I've always loved (the symbol is tattooed on my left shoulder). "bantha" is usually taken when I try to use it (ebay, forums etc), so I changed the a's to 4's and viola! |

| Coming up with a username is a pain in the butt! My initials are LOP but I thought it looked stupid so I added an extra "O" and went with only one capital letter. Now it looks even more stupid but I'm not changing it. |

| Mine is quite simple as most are to the individual that makes them up and to everyone else once explained.
My surname is Small (I've got a pretty thick skin carrying that name through childhood). It rhymes perfectly with "Maul" ergo the birth of Darth Small was my destiny.

| For me it's a kind of boring story. Think it was somewhere around 2006 that I started playing world of warcraft, I made a tauren male warrior and the obvious name for me would be Rawmeat.
Back then it wasn't taken so I used rawmeat for pretty much stuff like forums etc but eventually rawmeat started to get taken everywhere, so I started using raw and raawww etc. Got messy in the end and now I can't even use raawww anymore since it's so taken.
When Wrath of the lich king was released I had stopped playing wow a good while back but I decided to try out the expansion. I was very tired of my warrior so wanted to try out death knight. I made a female blood elf that time to come down in size, I was also pretty tired of seeing that masculine tauren tailed behind and a large shield for years so the name ended up being Rawlin. Like a female version of Rawmeat. So I just stuck with Rawlin as my new screen name instead. |

| I first picked out ratherchildish for my wordpress photo site. The intent was to take a short phrase that fit the subject matter (toys) in a way, but that would also trigger a sense of irony given the amount of commitment that goes into every photo. It actually doesn't work that well as a handle for the forum since minus the photos it only reads as something halfway disparaging. For better or worse its stuck. And there you are! |
