| aussiejames: A longshot what COO does the figure have? I think it looks really stiff and leatherlooking maybe it come from a palitoy 45back? check the moc on page one of this thread.
i will take a macroshot of mine COO9 tonight and see if they are the same, i think so but i could be wrong |

| Yeah-sus, I don't know whether this will help, but the cape on your Vader is identicle to the one on my moc Palitoy 65 back with a 'normal' bubble. The saber is also the same. On the chest box has the red paint been applied over the white? My Palitoy 45 back (shown on page 1) appears to have a standard Kenner cape (smooth on the outside with cross hatching on the inside). Perhaps some other Palitoy moc owners could tell us what their capes are like? In the photo AJ posted, the cape appears to have a finer texture, but that might just be the lighting or me not seeing it right. |

| Hi yeah-sus and CP, the cape you have posted yeah-sus is different to the one in James's post. Its the same as the one on CP's MOC and also as the figure I was referring to earlier as the "PBP scar"(H then scar) It's also the same one that appears on the Vader referred to as the "Clipper scar"(full scar) Both these so figures have the same capes, maybe sabers to but different scars. |

| Might it be the cape from the Taiwan Vader? The cape feels very different from the Palitoy 'leather' cape, much rougher. Bluedog comes from Australia, where this figure was released. His Vader has a Hong Kong COO, but maybe it was swapped at some time http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1077998/ |

| Hey Fella's Thanks very much for having a look at this cape and huge thanks to James for posting it for me. I've finally got my TIG account working so I plan to hang around and annoy you guys with stuff like this. Even though I'm from Australia this Vader was purchased form the States, the seller assures me it's vintage and I'm inclined to believe him as everything else I've purchased from him has been fine. The best I could describe it compared to a standard cape is it has a crispness to it, it's a bit more rigid but just as thin if not a micron thinner than a standard one. Here's some more pics taken outside hopefully it's a bit easier to see. Cheers Ryan. |

My Takara is carded so it's not so easy to get good pictures. Hard to tell if it's exactly the same as bluedogs. I thought so at first, not sure anymore. Anyways, here are the pictures. Full picture: 12-back Takara alternate head. A couple of other carded Vaders I don't think have been posted yet. ESB 48C ESB 41A ROTJ 65C SW 21B |

| So the Jury's still out on the PBP Vader?
I have the one with the 'H' then scar and the hand cut, leathery cape. This is the one generally referred to as a PBP Vader? But, there's no real concensus on whether he's actually PBP or not? For what it's worth, my one smells the same as the other PBP figures I've had. (The plastic has a really distinctive smell. (For the record, my Hoth Han which is referred to as the 'Palitoy' variant also has this smell. Possibly Made In Spain?)

| The easiest way to identify a loose Takara sculpt is by checking the leg for a Japan COO and by checking the back for a screw that holds the figure together. |

| This Vader was included in my recent Chicago lot, rasied bar no coo. Can someone tell me about the lightsaber? The tip is rather long.

| I wont say what it does actually look like (use your imagination. ), but the tip is like John said or it was used as a teething ring for someone. |

| Interesting. Thanks for the information, I didn't realize some of those tips were that resilient. |

| Its plastic. If you pull or chew on it long enough like a straw, it will eventually distort. |

| Thank You !! I have some of my things posted to my site, but I'm not of the mind to limelight to really post things openly anymore. I do share things on FB from time to time, but I wanted to post these to bump my favorite character, and show some love for the new resident Bootleg Expert. Bill |

 | Subject: COO #20? Wed Feb 13, 2013 1:19 pm | |
| Greetings. First post, long time lurker. I have a ton of questions, but this one is the first... The COO guide image (layout of the variations with numbers and info) at the top of the COO for Darth Vader seems to stop at #18. However, on page 1 of this thread there is a picture with a COO that is not shown on the list of the 18 I see on the COO page for Vader but "RetroRewindToys" [ post # 61284 about 2/3s the way down the page #1 - sorry, I didn't figure out a direct link to it ] has a picture of it that he labeled as #20. The COO is a Hong Kong one that says "Made in Hong Kong", not just the normal 'Hong Kong' text. Does anyone have any info on that #20 and where a full COO image/guide of any numbers above #18 might exist? The COO guide I am looking at is HERE and also the image at the top of page one in this topic. I have one of those and am curious to the what and where about it. I have a bunch more to ask and hopefully contribute in so way or another so I look forward to talking with you all soon. Thanks.... I'll also post up a "hello" post when I get a minute to put something somewhat coherent down. cheers |
