Land of the Jawas Empty
PostSubject: Land of the Jawas   Land of the Jawas I_icon_minitimeSat Apr 28, 2012 8:22 am

I have a question regarding the Land of the Jawas Playset.
I recently bought a German Land of the Jawas Playset. The whole Playset is wrapped in an adhesive film.
Was that film within the package or ist completely custom?

Hi Michael,

Great to see you posting. Very Happy

Do you have some pictures?

I am also curious how the German release looks like.

I have one NRFB Cloud City playset in which the cardboard parts are carefully wrapped with a thin plastic sheet. I assume the previous owner had done so. Nevertheless I have not dared to unpack it, just in case it was factory wrapped.

And I am still making the same mistake over and over again, the "mike" in "mike-skywalker" puts me on the wrong track every time. Embarassed

Next time I will know it, after all our names are 80% similar. Very Happy

Thanks for the picture, I have never seen such wrap before. The Sandcrawler is partially wrapped whereas I would expect a fully wrapped cardboard when it was factory applied. Interesting.

Why is this a German version? Based upon the box that came with it?

I bought it without the box, but with the German Instruction sheet "Land der Jawas Spielset".
swscout got a picture on his KraftderMacht page.

Looking at the way the plastic has been applied I would say that was done by a previous owner. I have certainy not seen another one like it.

I assume your are right...that have been my thought, but I want to be sure. So lets listen to some more oppinions.

@Marco.
TIE Fighter, X-Wing & Land of the Jawas Playset have been sold in common Kenner Boxes, just with German instructions.
The TIE-Fighter and the Landspeeder Boxes have been shrinkwrapped. No idea, why the X-Wing and the Jawa Playset not!

Noone in our german collector forum could confirm, as you already did, that this adhesive film does belong to the playset.
It was later attached, just to protect the playet.
I am a little bit disapointed, because the seller didn´t mention it in anyway. Actually it looks like a custom attachement...so I assume he knows it. The seller would take it back...but I want to keep it...due to the really rare German instruction.
Well, finally a little bit overpriced...but I don´t care...after about 4 years hunting it.

Thats the thing about collecting, its the passion put into it. Its awesome to find something in "MINT" condition but these days its getting harder to come by. The fact of just getting it is worth the hunt and less than desired condition. "But in the end ya have it"

Hi Mirco,

Thanks for giving us an update!!!

I think you made the right decision to keep this set with its unique German instructions.

BTW: I will contact you for some pics of this German version when we cover Land of the Jawas in a soon to be launched new TIG project....
