See...that is what puts me down most:

I have a bad day...can happen...and I am sorry if i sounded rude (which I did...I know). BUT, for a guy that makes so many guides around and spends a lot of money on variants you should know the difference....

That is maybe just my opinion but sth is generally going wrong here on TIG. You should be elitist Marco.....sorry that I did do my homework!

The main reason I and others do not contribute to this thread anymore is, that it is just guessing around....all the time! Figures compared to the wrong coo (family) etc, just to one opposite whilst there is a database around of hundreds etc! If you want to get serious get your facts straight in here!

But I can see in the threads around (LL, Whithe collar BG, and here) people reward (with given plus) the "wrong" answers. The answers were people guess, want to believe etc.

That is what is going wrong here. Facts are seen as something negative...that is why I and other do not post here anymore!

Sorry for the rant....it is not pointed at only you Marco and not pointed at only this thread.

Still having a bad one! I hope you can forgive me, but the last days reading here made me really mad! There is some GREAT guides/books in the making out there (not mine) that maybe will be never published...and why?? Guess why!

Okay Okay, let's pull the ripcord here.

A German and a Dutchman arguing in English is bound to have something lost in translation. So maybe some of this is escalating out of context.

Everyone hold hands and sings Kumbaya now!

I started this thread more than a year ago in order to gain more insight about POCH/PBB figures. The idea was to initiate open minded discussions fuelled by facts - not fiction. Facts which were presented by myself and hopefully others would chime in to present their information, pictures, so we could discuss further, and learn something at the end of the day.
Also an overall working theory for the different figure categories was presented. Realizing that various aspects of it still needed to be verified by sound evidence, I asked everyone to please challenge this theory, so it could be improved (on page 1). I was happy that some aspects of the theory were challenged at a certain moment. However, when coming up with some counter arguments supporting the theory, the discussion soon died unfortunately.

To be very clear, facts should be the essential part of the POCH/PBP and any other discussion on this forum. Theories should be based upon facts and be challenged ("shooting holes in it") so they can be abandoned or improved.

I think, I did my best to separate/moderate  facts from ideas. But hey, that’s what I think, and maybe we lost that important principle during the POCH/PBP thread?

Wolff has voiced his view. @ Wolff: Please PM or mail me if you want to further discuss this with me.

I also care to hear the views of others now.
What is OK about the POCH/PBP thread, what can be improved?
Please be honest, I can handle it.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Cheers
Marco

I for one like the openness of these forums and the freedom to ask maybe a silly question or post a questionable picture to try to get some enlightenment. How many new things are being discovered even with all the "facts" in front of us. If all we ever do is rely on what other people tell us and never question we will never grow. I am afraid it is going to get to the point that no one will ask any more questions in fear of getting completely shot down in four seconds and something really cool will stay in darkness.

I know I do not contribute to this thread so maybe I do not have any basis to post.

Hi,

Thanks for posting. Can you please make comparisson pics with a Kenner figure having the same COO?
Hopefully we can getting some answers then.

@Dr Dengar wrote:

Which COO has your Yoda? Can you also check pls whether the front and back part of the torso belong to different COO families. Off course that is not a must, but merely an indication the figure could be POCH (mixing up parts from different sources)
How does the green paint of the hands and feet compare to a Kenner figure with the same COO?

Sorry for all those questions, but I am looking for some confirmation of how a POCH Yoda should look like.
And hopefully we can get some more answers.

Cheers

Comparisson pics as suggested are important to identify your Yoda figure as a POCH.

POCH variants are sometimes subtle variants, that's why.

here you are 2 nices Poch Rebel soldier with same coo. See how the hat has been over sprayed and check very carefully the eyes. In addition, you can see they have different boots color.... or they have been decolorated???. I hope you like them.

Does anyone else have a "Kenner" white painted legs Rebel Soldier to compare to a "POCH" one?

I've seen another "Kenner" Rebel Soldier, in the US this time, without paint on the top of the legs. The only difference to Spanish ones I've had, is bubbles in the paint. That isn't enough to call it a "POCH" version? Even the paint is the same shade of white!

It is of course possible that a batch or sometimes a few figures also werent sprayed on top of the legs in other factories too! What I really doubt is that there is any figures out there with the same shade of white! Do you have any comparison pictures??

Maybe you just have a not so good Poch one. I once also owned one where the trousers looked a bit yellowish compared to my other examples. Maybe some yellow? Maybe some are really closer to the Kenner ones, but the true POCH one has extrem whitish trousers and I never saw these anywhere else!

One minor difference is the smaller black bar below the white 'pocket' on the jacket.

The white colour of the pants and neck looks the same.

One is POCH the other Kenner?

I thought that too. Which one should be the POCH figure then? Not the one you expect!

One is from Spain with bubbles in the paint. I think the other is "Kenner".

Thanks for sharing your pics, Ricardo.

I like the "Mascara" eyes of the left POCH Rebel Soldier. Recently I learned something about paint masks. Very Happy

So accordingly, the Mascara look was generated by applying more paint through the same mask.

The different boot colours are due to discoloration IMO.

Hi Greg,

I will go up to the attic and make some comparison pics for you.
Kenner vs POCH white painted trousers. One moment please.

EDIT: Here are the pics.

Rebel Soldiers. White painted legs. All COO#1. From left to right: 1 (Kenner), 2-4 (POCH).

The Kenner figure has a shade creamier legs and scarf compared to the POCH figures. The same difference was observed for a second Kenner figure with white painted legs (no pics made).
Both Kenner figures have white painted tips at the top of the legs (in contrast to the POCH figures which all have unpainted tips).

Hi Jaimie,

Your applegreen Yoda from Spain looks very similar to the one I posted a while ago.

https://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t4427p285-the-poch-pbp-guide-discussion-thread#85833

My apple green Spanish Yoda turned out to be a mix up from parts orginating from different steel moulds: COO#3 back torso part and COO#2 front torso (as proven by the divergent belt strings).
The torso of your figure is pure COO#2 family. I don't know about the other parts.

The lighter green paint on the hands and feet seem to be typical for Spanish Yodas.
Your Yoda has this, mine has this as well. And it also applies to the leather head POCH Yoda.

https://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t4427p315-the-poch-pbp-guide-discussion-thread#86543

It has been a while since we have discussed the Spanish Jawa.

https://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t4427p405-the-poch-pbp-guide-discussion-thread#92216  (and posts below)

From the discussion it turned out there were two types of Spanish Jawas.

The new figure on the left has small irregular eyes. Yellow instead of greenish yellow, because there was more paint applied on this figure. The paint was applied outside of the plastic eyelines.

I bought the figure as I thought the bandolier was much darker than the other figure, and I was hoping to get a Jawa which was described by Wolff before.

Having both figures in hand, I am not sure.
I think paint wise the bandolier is very similar as the right figure.
The mould of the bandolier might be different though?  unsure

All input will be welcomed.
