| Any fishing enthusiasts on here? I love fishing, I try to get out to the river or the lake as much as I can, but bad weather and the water level in the river has limited this summers adventures, but I've caught some nice fish both trolling and casting along the river banks. I mainly fish for food, no C&R here, only if the fish are too small or I have enough for food. This summers catches: 9th of June, 2kgs trout 23rd/24th of June, arctic chars, 1 char at 1 kgs, 1 char at 1.5kgs, and the big one is a whopping 2.5kgs. (the little one in the second pic is my mates only catch that weekend. ) 28th of June, a bunch of ugly buggers, lots of fight so lots of fun, but not a food fish and the pike and trout have destroyed the char population in the river. 20 years ago, the only fish present in the river were arctic char, they put trout in as a school project in the 80s to see how they would survive, and god were they stupid... This is were me and my mate went, quite a sight! 30th of June, 600gs trout 2nd of July, after 8 hours, 1.5kg char! Almost gave up this time, my line broke and I lost my best lure, mosquitoes everywhere, and not a nibble all day..... But when my mate got his line caught in the engine, we made it to shore to fix it, and I thought I'd try casting from shore, and what do you know, this lovely fishy followed my lure in but didn't bite at first, did it again, and he bit hard! And lastly, yesterdays trip, it pays to go alone sometimes! Didn't have a weight(?) so I don't know for certain what they weighed, but the biggest is approx. 500/600gs |

| Some nice fish you've caught there. I'm a keen sea angler. My favourite quarry is Bass, as they are hard fighting & very tasty! I haven't done as much as I would like in recent years, but now my daughter is older I'm hoping to get a few trips in this summer. |

| My buddy and I have been fishing like crazy this summer. ANd I haven't caught shit. Not one. My buddy had a good sized Pike hooked, but it bit through the line about 3 feet from shore.
Any fishing tips, Tundra? I'm willing to try anything. Around here, most of the fishing is trout, pike, crappie, and an occasional catfish. There are some bass here, but they are few and far between, so most don't even go after them. |

| Thanks cantina_patron, please put up some pics, would love to see what you pull out of the water from around the world! Gorneesh, yeah when the weather is like that my town is beautiful, but never been so deep in the woods as on the picture, I mainly stick to the river bank, there have been bear sightings there in the last years, and the wolverine is always about. Tad, do you use any leads on the end of the line? Keeps the pike from biting it off. Lure-wise, pike eats anything, but try big lures, at least 12grams, all colours. If you try to catch pike, go where the grass is in the water, but I'm sure you know this. I mostly use spinners for river trouts, and big Tobys for lake trout, but salmon lures are also good for trout. |

| This season has been slower than last year, been out trying my luck a few times, but not much to brag about. Caught this last week, this seasons first food sized trout: |

| Man I love to fish for catfish. When I lived in Oklahoma I fished all sorts of private ponds and at Lake Holdenville and the South Canadian River where it runs through Calvin. I havent been able to do that in quite some time. Sure wish I had the time now.
Catfish seems to be the fish of choice in the are where I was. Although we had a few bass ponds that were pretty good too, but nothing beats waiting for the big fight of a good size catfish on the line. |
