This is one of the few boards that I take part in, the other being an Oklahoma State message board. I know many of you are from the great states in the North East (NY, NJ, Penn, MA, DC, etc) and having felt directly a horrific event in my home state of Oklahoma on April 19th, 1995... just want to give my heart felt prayers to everyone this event not only directly touched from what happened, but to the entire country I call home.

I know no one will forget in the United States or probably the world, but just... let's never forget and give thanks to those that put their lives on the line to make our homes, families, safe... like those 400+ who gave their lives saving thousands on that day.

9/11 wasn't just an attack on the U.S. all countries lost people in the planes and buildings that were destroyed I here people say we should forget it and move on, I will never forget that day I was in the car with the wife getting ready to go to work when I heard it on the radio that the twin towers were hit by planes I turned to my wife and said were going to war soon, I knew right off it was an attack at that point. I will never forget 9/11 my prayers go out to all the people who lost loved ones and to all the soldiers still fighting to keep our great nations free I salute you all.

I remember that day very well. I happened to be on the phone with a friend that drove past the Pentagon after the plane went thru one side. A number of us were scared, concerned and had no idea what the fuck was going on. A person later gave me a picture of the tower as it burned. She had taken it from her apartment down the street in Manhattan. I will not get into the Ex Army gung ho shit that I usually go thru, except to say, I will never forget that day and will always remember the pain it caused the America I love and defended.

Thank you for your service! I too was a member of the US Army (88m in the 90s) and came so close to re-enlist, ultimately.... looking at my 9 month old daughter, I couldn't think about leaving her for an unknown number of months, years, ?

For me, like many Oklahomans, it was a difficult day on top of the shock. Living in Stillwater (about 70 miles North of OKC), we were actually woken by the 'earthquake' we felt as the massive truck-bomb killed 167 Oklahomans including 17 children. Drove straight to the City after that... just to do anything I could. Was at the sight of the Murrah Building and just couldn't believe what I was looking at. 9/11 brought on that back, then some.
