| I finally sucked it up and bought a new TV !! It arrives next Saturday and I have to decide what movie to choose to "debut" the new set.
Now I know SW should be the obvious choice, but I'm not really sure (I know , I know). I was thinking it could be Serenity , 300, Tron, Avengers, or other movies made more recently.
Anyone want to chime in ?

| I recommend my favorite movie of all time. The Thing From Another World. An awesome 1951 Sci-Fi masterpiece.
Or King Kong or Gogzilla. The original 1933 and 1954 releases respectively. |

| ^^ something along the lines Paul suggested - classic oldschool sci-fi/fantasy adventure, maybe Jason and the Argonauts! Or Planet of the Apes (original) - both classic films from the 1960s.

| See now I was thinking made recently, just to show off the TVs capability. Even something 3D. You guys are going to the other side of it which I never considered.
Godfather is a solid choice , but I want vibrant coloring, good effects , etc..
I think Avengers will give me it. I also thought about Avatar.

| Yeah Avengers would look amazing! I just watched the Godfather blu ray & was blown away by it. All the grainy scenes have been cleaned up, they really did an amazing job with it. 300 was what we watched when we got our new TV  |

| I agree that if you want to test it with somethign new, take an High Defenition Sci Fi movie like TRON on Blu Ray, or the new Total Recall was also great if you haven't seen that. |

| I know everyone has been waiting with baited breathe to see what I chose  For the family , we watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It was amazing. I swear it's like watching real life, but crisper. I've gone through 300, Serenity, Various SW , and it's just a consistent WOW!!!
