The clamps exist in three molds (3 mold families Wink )

So the spider has obviously also 3 different forms.....I will check later! Wink

I think I got pictures to show the 3 'types' https://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t4757-the-official-fotw-thread-fx-7#86349

I finally had a bit of time and took a beater FX-7 to the band saw.
The rivet has what looks like fairly sharp self tapping threads.  It's not much wonder the rivet's are almost impossible to remove.

Great update Clint. Very Happy
You have confirmed what I suspected in a post I made on page 1 (that the rivet would have some sort of rings to hold it in place).

Bumping this great thread with a question.

Now we know how the inner side of FX-7 looks like, can we somehow explain the clicking feature of the figure in the vid below?

Hey Marco, that is a great way to show the figure.Very Happy   Here is my theory, hopefully someone else has a theory as well.

Maybe the bottom of the neck where the rivet or screw is installed, there is some extra plastic (flashing), or the rivet or screw has a nick or burr in the metal somewhere.  And when it is rotated, it is catching on the "hooked" base piece, creating the clicking sound.unsure   Does it make the same sound with the head lowered as it does with the head raised in your video?
