| The ROTJ Painting Competition Form was definitely available as a pick up in stores. Here's a ROTJ Painting Competition flyer which advertised the competition: http://theswca.com/images-speci/harper/palitoy-art-paintingcontest.html They're both really cool ads/promos RE: The Rancor Keeper offer was just a send-in following the cutting out of 6 nameplates from MOCs. Here's my ad for the Emperor - the exact same offer: The Erdington, Birmingham UK address I believe is the address they used for all their promo correspondance, rather then the Coalville, Leicester address which was the factory. Jason I hope you'll chime in too Was wondering if you had some more info on this Erdington address? _________________________________________________ Paul F,

| Was the colouring competition advert only in comics/magazines or was it available as a flyer like the Rankor keeper and Emperor figures? |

Mike, I've never seen one, only as ads in comics. But the SWCA says they were available as flyers. This thread has quickly turned into a Palitoy advert/flyer appreciation thread! Not guilty guv! A great article from Star Wars Blog here about Pali ads: Palitoy Star Wars ads - the forgotten comics The ESB film competition is one of my faves and was drawn by Brian Bolland Here's the RS thread with the Brian Bolland original transparancy: http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1083421/ btw - I'll add all your ads/flyers to the World of Odd sections if ok with everyone. LMK if not. Cheers. _________________________________________________ Paul F,

| Late to the game here. Haven't got many of the palitoy competition/fleyers yet so the erdington address in birmingham is a new one on me. Makes kind of sense though? They must have generated a lot of additional mail they didn't have staff on hand to deal with at the factory so farmed it off somewhere else. Posting figures out from Coalville ok, but judging and art competition? The cardbacks listed looks like a fairly mixed bag, nothing particularly rare in there from what I can see. Just goes to show that there was a pretty mixed bag of palitoy/kenner cards out there in the shops, with even the odd clipper or 2 thrown in. I guess supply and demand on individual figures got them sourced from different places. cheers Jason |

| Massively late response on my part, but cheers for the input Jase, Maybe you can shed alittle light on a couple of these little oddities I've found on the cards. Firstly some of the cards have stamps on them, I'm assuming there not really important, probably some kind of supplier stamp maybe, but would be interested to know if anyone else has got anything like this on there cards. First up is this, it appears on at least two of these cards and is stamped in ink across the ESB logo. It's difficult to make out the letters, but have a look. The cards it appears on are all Palitoy ESB 41 Back A cards. Close up: Another stamp that appears on the reverse of several of the cards, which again is possibly kind of supplier stamp. Close Up, it say ;M.R.M.S. ltd. And a couple of my favourite Palitoy cardbacks, the 41 Back B cards that altered the text to remove the 'with figures' from the Star Destroyer Playset. Below are two that where amongst the cards, othe first 2-1B with the text unchanged, unfortunately none amongst these cards had the blue sticker, but there was this, which is my favourite, the good old pen scribble on a Bossk Close up: Love the fact that some one/people got the job of penning out the writing! Any thoughts on the stamps would be great guys |
