OK, I have to say it over and over, I will NOT collect GI Joes. I will NOT collect GI Joes. If I don't keep saying it over and over, I might get drunk and buy a loose lot off ebay!

I am sure like a lot of you, Star Wars was my first action figures I really played with, collected and loved in the late 70s, early 80s. But then, getting a little older I started getting into GI Joes.
I was born in 73 (to make the math easier), so when they first hit I was 9 or 10 and only had a few years of action figures playing years left before I "grew up" but I loved my Joes and especially blowing them up with firecrackers.

I always loved Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes the most. The ninja plus army thing was a perfect combo.

So I decided I would re-acquire Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes again now that I am re-acquiring Star Wars figures.

I haven't found a good deal on Snake Eyes yet, but did get a complete, near mint Storm Shadow with unbroken, non-chewed on accessories. He came with a cutout file card, a few trading cards, a comic book and a few more nick knacks so I was happy about it.

After Snake Eyes I MUST STOP. As much as I would love a small Cobra foot soldier army and a Cobra Commander (original, hooded version). I will not collect GI Joes.... I will not collect GI Joes.

I collect way too many lines myself so I normally would never discourage buying more toys either , but the brother was asking for help ... so I gave him some

I had nicely moved on from a small GI Joe buying binge a couple of years ago. It only lasted a couple of weeks and I only bought a handful of figures. But I had moved on to "better" things and was sure I had beaten the Joe bug and was never going back. BUT NO!!!! Now because of you I'm cruising Ebay looking for things like the Mobile Missile System and the FLAK cannon. And checking YoJoe.com You are EVIL EVIL EVIL.

Don't blame me, blame Cobra. They are the evil ones.... or are they???

I have typed in a few GI Joe loose lot searches on eBay but haven't yet clicked the button to search. I fear if I do, I might end up with a small starter lot and that would be BAD. Very BAD!!!

I still do want a complete, minty Snake Eyes (original) with swivel arm battle grip with the file card. But that is it! ... or is it!?!?! haha YES. No. YES!!

Yes you will. You know it to be true.

I had a very small number of Joes when I was kid, 2 figures and 2 vehicles. My mom kept them stored for me and gave them back last year -- unfortunately, my Cobra Eel's elastic broke, so he is just a pile of pieces. Lifeline survived, I was happy about that. My Water Moccasin is in pretty good shape, but the Sky Hawk is missing all its removable pieces, so I still need to track those down...

The elastics are pretty simple to fix. I fixed a bunch of mine with rubber O rings from the plumbing section of Canadian Tire.

if any joe collector is interested we have a store here in the city that has lots of vintage joes if there are any you are looking for drop me a line I will see what they have and let you know how much they are I know they have carded and loose.

You just need a small Phillips head screw driver to open the torso. Sometimes they are pretty tight to get out. And when you're putting the screw back in when the screw stops turning you're done. Any more torque will break the plastic inside.

That was one thing that always blew me away about GI Joes, all those great accessories!

I recently had a bit of a reorganisation & decided to just display the Palitoy 'Action Force' years (19882-85).
These guys I really consider to be Joes but still count as true Palitoy era:


I still think Hasbro's (U.S.) 1985 line up of G.I.Joes are some of the finest action figures ever produced.
