So let me throw this out there.

Most of us live on budgets and sometimes it's nice to have a little windfall. If you've ever heard of "Christmas Clubs" it's where you contribute a little bit of money each week and then get it back at the end of the year.

I was thinking of doing something a little similar. Here's a scenario, but just using it to make the point. These numbers aren't in stone at all.

Maybe 20 people contribute $10 a week to a fund. After 20 weeks (the weeks = contributors), we draw numbers and create a payout schedule over the next 20 weeks. Each week someone will get $200. If you have an item you want and it's not your week, maybe someone will trade payout weeks with you.

You're just getting back your money obviously but it's a nice forced savings account to put towards vintage items.

Any thoughts, good or bad??

Hey John,
Sounds good to me mate, when I save for something i'm after(vintage  star wars), quite often funds end up on something else. head bang
If you get enough takers, I'm in. cheers

I like the idea of forced savings, however don't Christmas clubs pay out everyone at the same time? Some poor person will have to wait 40 weeks to get their money. Sad

I can see issues if someone is 'forced' to pull out ie. after 8 weeks ( $80 ) you loose your job then what happens?

I'd be up for a raffle thou Wink
