| Stef, Re: Pink or Cream? Here is my GL FB: If you need larger shots, click on them to see the size choices on flickr.I still think the picture of his face is off from what I see when I look at it in person. I would say in my hands, the color of his face is not as pink and not as creamy as your shots. cheers! |

| Carlos....Cheers for pointing out the missing droids vehicles. I do have them listed in the Droids thread but there are currently no entries form them. Maybe someone owns both and would like to donate photos?
Jay.....Thanks for posting photos of your luke farmboy. I'm beginning to wonder if Glasslite's quality system allowed subtle batch differences during manufacturing as the colour's on my 3 examples all seem to be uniform (ie no visible signs of sun damage, faded area's).
TIG.....Does anyne else have a loose luke farmboy they can share with us? _________________________________________________ * Wanted: Lili Ledy, Glasslite, Meccano, Kenner Canada Instruction Sheets, $$$$ waiting!! * Visit My Vintage Paperwork Limelight Click Me! * To Visit The Glasslite Guide & Discussion Thread Click Me! | Chewbacca NOTE:The Glasslite Chewbacca belongs to COO family #VI, this family contains one COO marking variation. The origin of this COO continues to baffle collectors as to why it exists. The first 20 Star Wars figures are copyrighted G.M.F.G.I, Boba Fett is copyrighted C.P.G. and then all figures from that point are copyrighted L.F.L. Chewbacca of course was released within the first 20 and is commonly available with the G.M.F.G.I. copyright, so it would appear that Kenner produced a new mold at a later stage for whatever reason and stamped it with the L.F.L; original through to be a French Tri(Mec) exclusive examples have since been found throughout Europe and the USA. A Kenner figure with an identical COO is used for the comparison. Chewbacca: Glasslite on the left Chewbacca: Glasslite on the left Chewbacca: Glasslite on the left Chewbacca: Glasslite on the left Chewbacca: Glasslite on the left Chewbacca: Glasslite on the left Chewbacca: Glasslite on the left Chewbacca: Glasslite on the left Chewbacca: Glasslite on the left DIFFERENCES:Compared to his Kenner counterpart, the Glasslite Chewbacca has: - Moulded in a lighter brown plastic - Moulded in harder plastic - Pale blue eyes - Unpainted Bag - The top two rectangles on the bandolier (above the shoulder) are painted - Different spray mask for the teeth* - Packaged with either a v1b (Shiny/Oily) or v1c (Silvery) Zuckuss Rifle (*)Top row appear to be painted between the canines, bottom row canines only Chewbacca: Glasslite on the left - The Glasslite Chewbacca can come with either small or large pupils, note the highlighted area's. ACCESSORIES:The Glasslite Chewbacca came a v1 Zuckuss Rifle compared to a Chewbacca Bowcaster. Note two variants of the Glasslite v1 Zuckuss Rifle have now been documented with examples shown and described below. As Glasslite produced the POTF and Droids lines at the same time it should be considered that the Chewbacca & Jord Dusat Rifles came from the same factory stock and should be considered identical. Chewbacca Rifle: Glasslite Top / Kenner Bottom Chewbacca Rifle: Glasslite Top / Kenner Bottom EXTRA:Comparision photos showing the Glasslite v1b-v1c Zuckuss Rifle compared to Kenner v1a Zuckuss Rifle. The Glasslife version appears to have no obvious mould differences therefore a simple four point checklist can be addopted to identify a genuine v1b or v1c Glasslite Rifle. | Imperial Hoth Trooper COO images used with the permission of wbobafett. His coo guide can be found here http://swspaceclub.com/wbobafett/coo-guide-3-0/ NOTE:The Glasslite Imperial Hoth Trooper belongs to COO family #I this family contains three main COO marking variations. The original mold tooling was stamped "MADE IN HONG KONG" where the production for the earliest version of this figure took place. During the products life and possibly as part of a cost reduction exercise production was moved to China, there the country of origin "HONG KONG" was machined out of the mold tooling and re-stamped with "CHINA". The last modification took place when the tooling was shipped to Brazil and Glasslite removed the COO possibly by grinding the mold tooling leaving a scar where the "MADE IN" and "CHINA" stamps once where. The scarred COO shown on the far right is unique to Glasslite, therefore the closest COO relative with a "MADE IN CHINA" stamp is used for the comparison below. Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite on the left Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite on the left Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite on the left Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite on the left Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite on the left Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite on the left Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite on the left Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite on the left Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite on the left & middle Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite left & right Imperial Hoth Trooper: Glasslite left & right DIFFERENCES:Compared to his Kenner counterpart, the Glasslite Imperial Hoth Trooper has: - Moulded in harder plastic - Mould flash on the right boot - Melt marks - A scarred raised bar China COO - Separate visor holes in the helmet unlike the China "univisor" - Thicker black lines on the shoulders - Thicker spray mask on the belt button - No vinyl skirt - Packaged with a light blue imperial rifle EXTRAS: Glasslite: Paint application differences Glasslite: Poor Sonic Welding Glasslite: Mould Flash Poor QA also resulted in minor differences between batches. - Differences in paint applications. - Mis-alignment prior to sonic welding. - Mould Flash (seen here on the rifle butt) ACCESSORIES:The Glasslite Imperial Hoth Trooper came with a v3 light blue rifle compared to the v1 dark blue rifle common to Kenner. Note that the v3 imperial rifle mould is identical to the black version which came with the Vlix action figure from the Droids line. What use is it been an Engineer if I can't use my vernier calipers? and if i'm honest the difference was too bloody hard to capture on photo doing side by side shots. As for the photos, cheers mate! I ditched the light tent and I was lucky enough then we had some lovely sun over the weekend, so it was back into the conservatory with the camera. _________________________________________________ * Wanted: Lili Ledy, Glasslite, Meccano, Kenner Canada Instruction Sheets, $$$$ waiting!! * Visit My Vintage Paperwork Limelight Click Me! * To Visit The Glasslite Guide & Discussion Thread Click Me! | R2-D2 NOTE:The Glasslite R2-D2 belongs to COO family #I,this family contains two main COO marking variations. The original mold tooling stamped "1977" was produced as part of the power of the force range; commonly referred to as the last 17. All the figures from range lack a country of origin and are simply copyrighted L.F.L followed by a year. The last modification took place for the Kenner Droids line changing the date from 1977 to "1985". This version of mold tooling was later used by Glasslite as is therefore common to both the Kenner Droids & Glasslite product lines. The closest COO relative with a "1977" stamp is used for the comparison below. As Glasslite produced the POTF and Droids lines at the same time it should be considered that both lightsabers came from the same factory stock and should be considered identical. During the products life and possibly as part of a cost reduction exercise production was moved to China, there the country of origin "HONG KONG" was machined out of the mold tooling and re-stamped with "CHINA". The last modification took place for the Meccano (Tri/Mec) line removing the "CHINA" COO by once again machining out the country of origin stamp in the mold tooling. This effect seen in the molded figure is referred to as a "DOUBLE RAISED BAR". This version of mold tooling was later shipped to Brazil and used by Glasslite and is therefore common to both the Meccano (Tri/Mec) & Glasslite. A Meccano (Tri/Mec) figure with an identical COO is used for the comparison. | James, - Leia It looks like you have the other Leia COO which belongs to Glasslite, which I don't currently own. I have #7 in the old COO guide, which I believe originates from #4, where as your originates from #5. Note the greater gaps between the 77's and the dot between the I & 1 is offset more. - Snowtrooper, GOT this COO and featured in this guide. It looks like he's suffering from torso mis-alignment like one of mine? - C-3PO, GOT this COO and featured in this guide - Chewbacca, GOT this COO and featured in this guide - Vader, hard to tell is the 9 in offset lower and the M raised? Cheers Marco It's not the only example of hand painted features.... R2 - blue strips on legs Leia - white circles on belt Possible Han Solo hands, but I not 100% sure yet. _________________________________________________ * Wanted: Lili Ledy, Glasslite, Meccano, Kenner Canada Instruction Sheets, $$$$ waiting!! * Visit My Vintage Paperwork Limelight Click Me! * To Visit The Glasslite Guide & Discussion Thread Click Me!
