haha... Wow! They are small! But still, they aren't smaller than a blaster or Jacks or dice! So WTF on the ban! Weird.......
off to ebay now to see what the deal is... I think they might make great XMas tree ornaments! Smile

Hidden toys Inside candy is slowly on the way to be being unbanned in the US, but still some way to go for proper Kinder Surprise to become legal:

http://gawker.com/5990806/us-ban-on-kinder-surprise-eggs-finally-lifted-kinda

More info on Kinder (read down for more on US ban):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinder_Surprise

(shameless plug) My site has some great vintage Kinder Surprise ads: http://thevintagetoyadvertiser.org/category/kinder-surprise/

@Jay - for the last two Christmases in France, the Kinder Surprise toys have been Christmas tree ornaments  Smile
Kinder Surprise is hugely popular here, as in many other European countries.

I believe, in Germany, they had the awesome Star Wars Kinder Hippos (including a Landspeeder vehicle):

pic eBay.

my wife, son and I have hundreds of the Kinder toys. The toys are mostly quite cool, but it's the collectable sets that are the most attractive. We have x2 different Smurf edition sets, Barbapapa, Astérix, and others, all complete in their boxes with paperwork.

@AJ - great SW set you and Junior have  Cool I will get round one day soon to sending you a spare Smurf set I have.

I had a lot of those 70 toys (and 80s)....collected them over years on fleamarkets....I wonder if you still get 200 bucks for a 70s Asterix??? Razz  (I doubt it to be honest...shame...)

My oldest and most valuable sets must be still somewhere around....LOL....

They based them all on original charcters but then used Jango No shame on you kinder! I used to have a full set of the hippo's, turtles and Asterix, but the Aserix were not from the 70's they were 90's which I had.

When they did the specials (Asterix, hippo's etc.etc.) I got told once that they where every 4th one in the crate. So when ever I bought kinder eggs I used to count 4 in from the left side of the crate and take that one and then count another 4 in and keep going. Not always, but a good 90% of the time this worked which is why I ended up with the full sets.

Did anyone else ever hear about this technique? It was a generally circulated rumour where I grew up and going into a shop and finding the crate of Kinder eggs with every 4th missing wasn't unusual.

(found the topic - was renamed and moved here?  unsure)

Anyway.......

A followup to changing the lenses on my EFX Stormtrooper helmet;
This was it before:
MODERN STAR WARS PURCHASES - Page 6 11671336633_fa6622e3b6_b

And here it is after:
MODERN STAR WARS PURCHASES - Page 6 12329820705_922f349629_b

Not a fair comparison with the different lighting, but the results are much darker than before.
I did decide to leave in the green and add the smoke since the original green ones have a padding along the edges and to preserve the green tint as well.

Three screws each and that is it.
I like it much better now.
Smile

cheers!
Very Happy

I just got this kit today from my bro Chris he had it and knew I like doing models so he sent it to me. This one for some reason is hard to find here in Victoria the others in the series are easy to find so I was very happy when he said he would send it to me. Again big thank you my friend I will post some pics when I get it done I have a few star wars kits I am now working on:)

I found a couple Legends Snowtroopers today at a (Canadian) Walmart.  I don't normally collect this sub-line, but I seem to be addicted to Snowtroopers these days. Very Happy

I haven't bought anything from that line myself, but due to the issues with some of the super articulated figures, I actually prefer the look of those (plus they're cheaper which has to be a bonus).

Anyway, here's my latest purchase.

I like the look of the black series but am still trying to avoid starting another collection I did pick up one modern item on the weekend though mainly because it fits in with my mini master replica collection it's the droids escape pod with a comic which I haven't seen before.

Only minus is the absence of a Zuckuss label on the card. For me Zuckuss will always stay Zuckuss.

(will post this in the Jumbo Thread thread as well)

I picked these up today (sorry about the flash).

Apparently the next wave also includes the Yoda above. Rolling Eyes (although the cardback has changed).

Cheers, Steve.

Congrats on that wave of the Black Series, Steve.  Very Happy
Looks very cool!

There were lots of complaints in modern communities about the poor articulation of the Yoda figure. Especially as the proto type (shown by Hasbro on conventions), was very well articulated.
Can imagine that this is not such a big deal for vintage collectors, we are all used to five points of articulation. Very Happy

What do you think about the upcoming new packaging design of the Black Series (with the TIE Fighter Pilot, in blue black)?

I prefer the new packaging design to the current one. Although I'd be happier if Hasbro had stuck with the vintage style cardbacks.

Congrats on finding those Black Series figures, I'm still waiting for mine through an online order.

It was a pretty epic modern acquisition day for me last week when this ROTS Press Kit arrived thanks to Tad!  I couldn't be happier with it, I've always wanted to add one of these to my collection.
