Personally, I don't have any problem when someone sells an item which he/she had won in a raffle before.

Here the case is different. The MOC was funded with money from a group of collectors who donated for the good cause and were terribly scammed.
So I can understand the implicit sentiments raised here. When selling (or even trading), it feels a ungentlemanly  towards  the good intentions of this group.

Stef, in the end it is your MOC, and you can do with it whatever you want.
I know you are an OK guy, so if I may give you a friendly advice, then please reconsider.

Cheers

I disagree. Why should he keep something he doesn't collect? As a memory of someone scamming the community? Not really a memory worth keeping. He's also putting the money into the hobby, so the end result is he get something he likes, whoever buys it gets something they like. Sounds like a Win-Win to me.

As a memory of someone scamming the community?

I was thinking more in line of keeping it as a memory of and in reward to a noble action from the community.

I have to agree with DarthBerizing on this one just because we were scammed by a fellow collector and decided to do a raffle with the remaining item and expecting a person to keep it, is just as wrong in my book and personally makes us no better then the individual who scammed us in the first place. If that were the case I would have sooner seen the item sold and the profits evenly given to all those who were scammed originally even if it were just a dollar instead of putting unwritten rules on the winner.

Well as most of you know me and frank tried to organized this whole event, when the whole drama came to light at the end. We decided to use the remaining funds to give the community (collectors who donated) something Back and that how Stef aquired the potf amanaman moc.
Now we true to find a nice give away, but never felt the winner should keep it of he doesnt like it or doesnt fit his focus.
Stef has all rights to sell this item and i find it even more great to hear he Will be using the money to fund another item for his collection he Will enjoy more then this moc.

Thanks for chiming in, Dennis. Much appreciated. Very Happy

Clearly a subject which results in different opinions. As you are one of the organizers, I felt it was important to hear your opinion as well.

What Stef is doing with his MOC is still his decision, and we are all entitled to have an opinion either supporting or opposing.
Gentlemen don't always have to agree on each subject to be good friends. That would be all too boring.  Very Happy

Let's move on....
