These are just my opinions by the way. I can show you this:THE POCH/PBP GUIDE & DISCUSSION THREAD, PART 2 - Page 7 Screen19

This shows the population of Spain at the time these toys were produced was between 33 and 37 million people. That is a high ratio and a toy company as profitable as kenner wouldn't license the star wars brand out if they were not going to produce MANY. These poch or early pbp figures were in no way released as plentiful as later ones, but they dang sure weren't made in hundreds or thousands. That population density these figures I would guess we're released in hundred thousands or maybe more. To put some perspective on it at the same time period mexico's population was 50-59million, more than spain but not double, and we see ledy figures literally everywhere. So why are these poch figures so rare to market? My belief is that many of the children who grew up with these toys have several factors going:1. They don't even realize they are rare (we see this in those pesky ended auctions where someone buys the figures for a song), W. They don't have a collector mentality. I already touched on this. Literally hundreds of U.S. collectors who have been collecting for decades and how many prominent spanish collectors do we see? I know of two or three. I just don't think there are many over there or rather there are less there and thus less making things public. 3. Market. I don't live in Spain but if it is similar to mexico then it may not have a giant market for collectables. I mean within an hour drive of my house is two successful full time toy stores and if I search on Craigslist there are actually 3-5 others who run roy stuff out of their houses, in countries where collecting is not as prominent then there may not be toy stores on the corner buying these old toys so owners may not know there is desire for them to be dug out.

Anyway, long rant over. I just don't believe that toys that were mass produced are as percieveably rare as these are purported to be. A bit more perspective we know the poch bossk exist in single digit numbers last i checked and may be up to low teens if that, the glasslite vlix at the last check I did on that was in the 50-100 numbers known. How can a vlix outnumber a common empire figure made in a country that did not have the plastic ration that the vlix went up against and did not have the limited release due to it being the last year of production? Common sense would say that is a statistical anomaly.

all those are valid points . i just dont agree . i know spanish figures were made by the pbp factory . i also know that most pbp figures are easier to obtain than most early poch/pbp's . i think the spanish factories did not produce nearly the amount that the ledy ones did . you may be right but i still feel the spanish line is very hard to complete and when getting into the number of variants on it even more so . i just dont feel the disyribution numbers on the pbp factories are even close to say ledy and definitely not kenner . all poch figures are pretty rare in the big scheme of things (even the common ones like the bespin guard and luke x wing) . i dont live in spain either but the numbers that are out there compared to other lines are miniscule at best when looking at the big picture . it will always be my favorite line maybe because its cool to own some scarce stuff or maybe because of the differences in spanish prroduced figures . all i know is im glad i got alot of spanish pieces before the prices skyrocketed in most cases that is . i paid a fortune for my pbp 4lom.

btw , werent trilogos available in spain? the market was flooded with them at one time and i was always under the impression that thats one of the resons that the pbp factories didnt churn out more product . that would explain the small numbers as well

I started to read this thread, really interesting. I do not know the version of my figures, in fact i just want one of each characters. A few month ago i sold three pbp snowtrooper ( i bought each figure 8 $ fifteen years ago ) and one of them has been sold 100$, I was surprised, but by reading this thread, I understand that there is an interest in variations.

for river9999uk, I just saw han poch cardback for sale on facebook at 1800euros, and apparatly, another one just sold on ebay for more than 2000.

about Bossk, there are two different spanish, one with scar, called pbp fat lips, value more or less 300 euros, and the other one, hong kong coo, green toxic limbs, that is extremly rare.

cheers guys

Hi,

Here is some pictures from Ibiza from 1987. First time me and my family went there in 1986 and I didn't buy a single star wars figure. Bought couple he-man figures, stonedar and a figure that needs to be built from bricks.
I said to my parents that we need to go there again next year so we went there in 1987. As you see in the picture all figures are poch/pbp. That stand have to be worth something about 5k€Smile On the stand you see Lando and it's same card as you can see on this post.
In 1987 star wars line was already out so these figures did probably not sell much in Ibiza. They had a two stores taht sold star wars figures. From the other store my dad bought me Imperial Commander for christmas gift. Check my other post what rare card it was on.
I bought more than 10 figures on this trip. All my other cardbacks but these two are cut to pieces to glued to a booklet:(

It's in a used condition but very rare. This was my only El Imperial Contraataca cardback, thats why it's not cut to pieces:)

Do anybody have prognosis what these card could be worth?
