| I am in the process of selling my 25 boxes of star wars figures, collectibles, figure sets, etc. I've just started looking at values. I have most of my things in the original package (I sure wish I'd been more careful with the packages.). I have a gray haired Obi Wan and an old Darth Vader. On both, the light saber is shoved up inside of the circular socket on the hand. It's obvious that it has a smaller point on the saber, but how do I tell if it is a regular or double-telescoping light saber without taking it out of the package?
Can you help me? The difference in value is insane. $200 versus $20,000 and I sure don't want to sell it for too little. Any advice would be appreciated. |

| to TIG As AJ has shown, the dt figures are only found on the first issue 12 back cards. As you may be able to see from the Vader example, the thin part of the saber looks shorter than it does on the single telescoping saber (due to being inserted inside the outer saber). The end of the thicker part of the saber is flat not rounded (early single telescoping sabers are also flat so this is not diagnostic on it's own). |

| RATS. Hopes are dashed. However, haven't even taken out my POTF figures to look at yet. Maybe I'll find something good there.

| I'd say if you have 12bk you've got "something good" pretty well covered! Where are you located? Maybe a veteran member is near you and can give you some help. If not, send pics to a moderator and we can post them for you. We've got a pretty good base of people so we can tell you what's what! | I'm in Mesa, AZ which is close to Phoenix. I'm talking to someone at an internet site about buying the lot or taking them on consignment at Brian's Toys. Has anyone dealt with them? Their prices look steep but since I'm selling and not buying that could be good for me. I sure don't want to make mistakes. I'm having fun digging out the boxes.

| Brian's Toys is very well known but honestly you can probably do this yourself and save some money. If you didn't want to be bothered, some of us would even buy them or consign. I know I would. _________________________________________________ SHEESH!!!!i am not raping anyones childhood!!!! - Darren P.S. | I was scanning the site and saw you've sold on this site and move around on it a lot so you probably know considerably more than I do. I'm still trying to figure out the codes in the guide I bought and many of the figures I have are not listed. Maybe you could email me? I don't have an email listed on the profile site. Would I be breaking the rules if I gave you my email or you gave me yours?
I didn't start out as a ""serious" collector and don't know the ins and outs. I just bought what I liked and bribed my son to study with the rest. He has many items that are used or incomplete which he has kept just as I did, but mine are mostly still in the packages. I collected a few to "finish" getting the first 77. I think I have most of those. Unfortunately, none of the first run (big 12 in the fancy package).
I have boxes. Lots of boxes. Any input would be appreciated.

| I'd be happy to help in any way. That's from free advice to consignment. We can figure that out.
I've got your Email address (I'm the site owner so I can see it). I'll email you shortly. _________________________________________________ SHEESH!!!!i am not raping anyones childhood!!!! - Darren P.S. | Thank you. But, I am a budette? Girl. Female. Old Woman. Older than you. DarthB told me how to set up a spread sheet. So I'm going to start that tomorrow. Got what I think is a very low offer from a toy site. I think there profit would be much more than half of the value. Must do much more research. And much more typing. Thank you all for your input. Truly need it. |

| Hello, Commander Clint. Wait the week to upload pictures and send one. or you can send me one at DSCITCHR@aol.com. Get close to the figure. If the figure is loose there are marks somewhere on it. Either photograph them or copy what they say. If still in the package, get close up of the figure and the package, front and back. The number of figures on the back and the lettering can help answer your question. In some circles, the forgeries are worth more than the originals. |

I deleted my first response as it was written with anger. This statement however needs to be addressed. There is no section of collectable I can think of be it books, comics, toys, art, whatever; where a reproduction is worth more than an original. In fact that is why we are so set against repro crap on this site. Reproductions in the Star Wars world are used to attempt to fool people into thinking they are real and therefore worth more. The statement that forgeries are worth more than originals is absolutely not true. _________________________________________________ Bryan
