| Hi albob, IMO Ben is harder to find than Vader The Max Webster auctions will set some lofty end prices. |

| Good to see this in the vintage chat area!
I'd say £500 for Luke, £4000 for Vader and £5000 for Ben. Of course graded adds a huge premium as does condition and anything of a pre production nature like circles variant, translucent sabers, EP figures. |

Hi Ol, I have a circle variant and I've heard about it having something to do with preproduction but I can't find anything on it. Can you tell me the story behind it or share a link? I've also seen a few show up with open SW-d baggies on ebay as well |

| taking from this threat and hope Bill Mcbride is oke with it http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1121690/
I've been documenting these and studying them for some time. The circle sabers were largely considered fakes until I was able to make a comparison with a 100% documented (prototype) example from a Kenner source, and realized it was a different type of DT saber altogether. (that thread should still be here on RS somewhere)
Here are some short points on these so far: ~ Lukes are absolutely production. They have been documented in every stage of production there is from loose, to baggies, to even two MOC examples (to date, there are no pre-production Lukes known) ~ Vaders have all been found with pre-production figures, or sources and have a molding pattern to them which is very different from the various Lukes (to date, there are no production examples known) ~ Ben .... even now, there hasn't been a single Ben example documented. However, given the relevant Kenner timelines, I would expect that when an example does surface, it will be in prototype form
I won't go into the various break down(s) for each saber, but altogether I've documented two major types for each saber, and under those it's possible to have three sub-variants. In terms of rarity, compared to a standard DT .. these are quite rare. Including the Shumate auction, there are only 5 known Circle Vaders
Bill
"No Letter Saber" covers two major types, and one of three sub variations. So one obtuse term could mean one of 5 different things.

| Bill, I doubt the original op will return to post pics. He has had two months to do so. Hopefully he will, you never know.
Interesting that bit from Bill. I remember seeing that when he posted. It's funny that the saber is considered a production saber for Luke, but that none have been found with production examples of vader or Ben. And if they have different characteristics like bill says then that means different molds? I wonder if any of the circle Luke's have the same molding characteristics as the vaders? Maybe some circle saber Luke's would/could be considered preproduction if they do. _________________________________________________ Bryan

| I've never understood how the Luke circles DT can be production but the later Vader circles DT is pre production. I'm sure there's an explanation but it's a confusing thought. |

I don't get this either, at all. The only rationale is that circle were all pre-prod but Luke made it out into the world during the EB distribution? _________________________________________________ SHEESH!!!!i am not raping anyones childhood!!!! - Darren P.S.
