Going to have to read a bit on the second two. Only knew cad bane from seeing his figure at the store (guess he is a bit of a peg warmer because I remember seeing it quite a few times as I peruse for any I got that may interest me).

Jabbas palace and Ben Kenobi

So it's looking like young Obi-Wan.. but I'll keep the voting open a few more days til I reveal the battle of the month next week!

C3PO and R2D2 make their way to Jabba's Palace to negotiate a new treaty. Upon arrival, they notice a shadowy figure standing atop the cliff side.  The hooded figure jumps down from the cliff, and a familiar voice is heard: "You're going to need protection if you plan on dealing with a Hutt!" 

The figure takes off his hood, revealed to be none other than Obi-Wan Kenobi:


"Come, I've heard of more than one entrance. And knowing Jabba, he'll be well protected."

Obi-Wan and the droids make their way inside Jabba's Palace. Passing by several dark, cave-like corridors, a loud growl is heard followed by an abrupt rumble.

"I have a bad feeling about this.."

Obi-Wan and the droids make their way further into the underground network of Jabba's Palace. Several Gammorean Guards are seen testing their strength and weaponry with one another, while a familiar looking blue-bodied fellow cleans his organ for an upcoming performance.

As the group inches closer and closer to Jabba's throne from below, Obi-Wan looks up through the metal grate and sees Jabba having a discussion.. but is unable to make out who it could be. Taking a moment to concentrate, Obi-Wan comes to a realization: "I know that voice..."

Before Obi-Wan and the droids can make their next move, they are spotted by Gammorrean Guards who let out loud, shrieking squeals of anger!



"There's something behind me.. isn't there? ....Oh dear." said C3PO

Jabba, now alerted of their presence, opens the metal grates as the previously unknown adversary drops into the pit.

"Right on time, Master Kenobi."



"Count Dooku.. or should I say, Darth Tyranus..? How could I have expected anyone else negotiating with a Hutt? said Obi-Wan

"You won't have Master Yoda to defend you this time, young Kenobi. You lose.

"Well, we'll just have to see about that now, won't we?

The two quickly clash as they are looked upon by the droids, gammorean guards as well as Jabba and company.



Trading blows back and forth, equal in combat, the two take to their sides. But just as Obi-Wan and Darth Tyranus were to lunge at eachother, the same rumble that was heard before becomes more frequent.. as a large figure appears out of the darkness.



"Is this a friend of yours, Dooku?

Standing in disbelief, Darth Tyranus yells out to Jabba the Hutt:

"Jabba, what is the meaning of this?!

Jabba laughs before picking up his pipe and instructing the guards to unleash the Rancor upon Obi-Wan and Darth Tyranus..."



*Now taking into consideration a beast that is of neither allegience.. Obi-Wan and Darth Tyranus must come up with a different strategy to overcome all odds.*

Will they work together to destroy the Rancor? Or will they use it against one another? Or.. do they both see their demise at the hands of the beast? Perhaps one of them makes it out alive and deals the killing blow to the other two..

Wow this is an awesome setup. Like a roleplaying game. Going to give this a think so I can come up with a good scenario. :scratch:

Alrighty so we have obi wan on one side and dooku on the other with a rancor flanking them both.  Dooku attempts to force choke obi wan lifting him in the air.  The rancor advances and reaches out for dooku breaking his concentration and allowing obi wan to be freed.  Obi wan falls to the floor to recover and as he does Dooku attacks the rancor with his lightsaber.  He lunges at the beast jamming his lightsaber into the rancors shoulder but it doesn't slice easily or freely (since it is such tough skin that it can deflect blasters I figured it might make lightsabers actually work for it instead of being like butter with a hot knife).  The beast manages to throw dooku off leaving the lightsaber in its arm.  Obi wan has recovered and begins to decend into the darkness of the cave the rancor was hiding in.  Dooku has the full attention of the rancor as obi wan searches for a way out.  Not finding a way out Obi wan returns to the main cavern and realizes that unless he helps the monster, Dooku may be able to overpower it and then he would have to fight dooku again.  Just as Dooku attempts to do a force grab on the saber trying to pull it free of the rancor, obi wan begins using the force attempting to hold it in place.  Dooku then begins to make the saber cut further and eventually slices the arm off the rancor.  Obi wan realizing the rancor's time is short and with dooku focused on it then does a force choke on dooku.  With dooku being held in place and cchoking the rancor reaches out and grabs him, lifts him to its mouth, and bites dooku's head off his body leaving nothing but a gnarled stump of his shoulders.  Just after completing this the rancor turns to obi wan, but falls due to massive injury and blood loss.  With Dooku and the rancor both dead, Obi wan is the victor; but he still has the Hutt to deal with.............

Great, well thought out answer! I'm gonna' let a couple others answer and see what they come up with before giving my two cents.

Okay, here's my Bad-ass Ben version.

Ben seizes his chance and immediately uses Jedi mind tricks on the Rancor who is tricked into believing that Dooku should be killed first. The Rancor dutifully attacks Dooku and Dooku has to fight back with his saber, giving Ben time to think.

As Bryan pointed out earlier - attacking a Rancor with a saber is no easy task because their hide is so thick. Dooku soon tires at trying to slay the beast and decides to summon a force-storm using all the debris littered on the floor like bones and skulls. The debris flies up in the air and disorientates the Rancor, and Dooku can now concentrate all his power into a final lunge at the beast's throat with his saber.

Dooku slashes the Rancor's throat BZZT KERRZZIZZ! but not before Ben has had chance to run at Dooku. With a swish of his saber, Ben removes Dooku's head and uses the old man's prone body to launch himself up onto the shoulders of the half-dead and staggering Rancor. Once on top of the beast's shoulders, Ben makes another jump and leaps up to the metal grille above where Hutt and co are watching. Ben grabs hold of one of the bars and with his other hand slices through the grille. A final leap brings him face to face with Jabba and co...
"Thank you for the kind assistance of your pet," he tells Jabba. "Now, who's next?"  

   

I did have a comedy farce planned where the Rancor would at some at some point turn to Ben and say: "No, I am your mother." But I abandoned this at early draft stage

 

Man, you guys are caught up with your Rancor mythos!

Great job, Paul. I really liked the force storm idea. I see that as something Dooku would conjure up.

It looks like you had Obi-Wan spare what was left of the Rancor?
