As per title, any ideas if this is original or repro, I picked it up in a childhood collection a guy was selling, he said they had been in his loft for 20 years and everything is original, don't think he was lying as he didn't know much about them

One side has a pattern(see 1st pic) and the other side doesn't , but the pattern side doesn't do the zipping noise, are they all supposed to zip ?

No it's just glossy, I would be very surprised if it's repro though because they have been in his loft for years, when did they start making repro capes for these ?

I know some reproductions date back to mid-early 90s.  That would be 20-25 or so years.  I am leaning towards reproduction myself.  Aussiejames or artoo_detour would be better guys to ask though.  I have seen some textured capes but one side always makes the zip noise.  If he acquired them in the 90s and they were put away it is possible it is reproduction.  That is if you believe the "been in storage for 20 years" line.  Some people say that and pretend they know little to nothing when passing things on.

I should also clarify I only have a few snowtrooper capes so I haven't had tons pass through my hands for comparison. Out of the ones I own though they all make the sound.

The bumpy/uneven ridges pattern is worrying imo. It looks a lot like the pattern seen on some of the repros we have for Ben and the Jawa http://www.imperialgunnery.com/vinylcapesskirts.htm
