| We had talked about doing a competition to involve the custom section here at TIG, but that kind of fell through. Wanting to do some sort of competition for summer, so I am interested to hear ideas. What would you guys like to participate in? I can think of a couple of things: 1. Custom section competition. Pick some judges (likely mods, devs, and admin) have users enter a piece they will do based on a subject of our choosing be it art, figures, whatever and have a bit of fun judging the work of others and get to see what they can do. 2. Another movie /tv game see some previous threads on those. Like the following: https://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t8118-tig-movie-detail-game-part-13. A best collection or setup type of thing. Again pick some judges (same selection most likely) and have users give us their best setup pics and or collection pics. Maybe require something in there like a comical setup or figure in action setup so it isn't just grabbing pics from your limelight but you actually have to do something. These are things I can think of, but if you have suggestions lets bat them around a bit. I am asking members what they would like to participate in the most as I am open to any of these ideas. I have some cool stuff I will do as prizes. A few carded figures (see movie thread above as I still have all of those), some loose stuff (no luke stormtrooper anymore but I do have a han carbonite with block but the han has been repainted as well as a few other loosies), some vintage paperwork and some other stuff. Depending on what we can come up with I will try to gather a few prize options. Hopefully you guys won't be disappointed with whatever prize I choose. Once I have an idea of what you guys might like to participate in the most I will think up some rules and/or guidelines and get it kicked off. This is just to see what you want to participate in the most. _________________________________________________ Bryan

| I should add I didn't ask anyone about this prior to posting so if the other members of the team want to participate it is open to anyone. I didn't even run this by the team, so hopefully I am not in trouble. Judges will be picked based on who wants in so if team members want to enter then I will pick judges outside of the team. _________________________________________________ Bryan

| Good ideas. I really had fun with the jar of figures game, too. That was something different, for sure. |

| I want to take part not judge!!!! Some sort of creative thing would be cool, could be customised items/artwork, &/or a 'photo' that makes you laugh/smile ie. Ewoks doing the Can Can, it could still be a picture of part of ones collection, keep the 'criteria' broad & open so as many people can take part with different ideas/pictures. |

And you can. If you guys can't tell, none of the other team members were clued in on this. I got bored today at work and thought these ideas up and posted about it to see what you the members of TIG want. If more team wants to participate it is all good. There is no politics in play here. Once I see what members want to do I will see who wants to help or who wants to enter. I have a group of friends outside of the team who may be asked to judge if your not going to enter. Worst case scenario, I judge it as unbiased as possible. That is of course if we do one of the options we need judges for. So far we have two who want something to do with collection judging with one of those wanting an amalgam of the collection judging and custom type thing. Then we have a third who said any is good with a hint at a pickle jar guessing type of thing. _________________________________________________ Bryan

I agree. Seeing "what if" stuff is really cool in my opinion. Variations on what Kenner did or never got around to doing. |

| So this is leaning more towards a custom type of thing. Let me give this some proper thought with what rules in place. Matt and Stef, since you guys want to judge if you have any specific rules you want in let me know. @darthmatt22@Walkie _________________________________________________ Bryan

| Custom is a great idea Bryan as far as collections competitions go, (I think you need catagories) guys that have been in the hobby for many years and have huge collections have a massive advantage over newer collectors and this could put newer people off from entering, just my opinion |

| Honestly kind of glad it swung towards the custom thing as limelight's more or less cover collections and like you said it is hard to judge a collection that is new with few items when it is up against a seasoned collectors lot. _________________________________________________ Bryan

| I like the Custom section competition idea thats something I don't think we have done at least that i recall. And yes have it based on an idea concept like a hoth dio or a movie custom that has to have a star wars flare. |

| Bill, I am thinking pretty broad definition of "art" for the competition. This could mean actual drawing/painting, customizing a figure, doing an figure in action type of thing, writing, etc... If it can be called art it can be entered. I am still thinking up the way it will be finalized but likely judged off of creativity and execution. _________________________________________________ Bryan
