Come on with some preview/in progress pics.

This is my first progress pic, I've taken others but as it's nearly finished I'll post those when I submit my entry. This image is just a rough sketch but it'll be a simple pencil drawing in the end. I haven't drawn anything for quite some time so it's been an interesting experience. I've tried to get the website in the picture to prove the date.

Nice. You plan on inking it or color or anything? Not making suggestions just asking.

It's just pencil as in the 2nd progress pic below (the quality of the photo isn't great but I think you'll get the idea for the rest of the drawing). This is the first time I've tried drawing anything for 16 years so I'm keeping it relatively simple for the moment.

Well I’ve given it a go, here is my submission for the custom “art” competition.

I wanted to do something that used the figures so I decided to set up a scene from the palace and draw that. After many ambitious and frankly silly ideas I thought a simple grouping depicting the negotiations with Leia, Chewie and a thermal detonator would be good.

The picture is pencil on paper with blu tack and cotton buds (cotton swabs, Q-tips) as the only other materials used. For a sense of scale Ree Yees is the actual size of the figure.

Trying to photograph this has been a pain so I’m going with my best effort. I’ve added a number of progress pictures as thumbnails which I hope satisfy the competition rules regarding proof of date.

Finally I hope you like it.

First official entry is in. And the competition starts off fierce. I have added this submission to the first post.

I sm curious to know how you did it?
Am I right in saying you took the photo, then traced the outline of the figures and rubbed that on the paper, then shaded etc?
I have always drawn free hand and never thought of tracing? I might give it a go, it looks awesome because the proportions are always right, nice

No I draw freehand. I roughly sketch the outlines then remove most of this using the blu tack (this is the 1st progress pic stage). I then add the detail back as I go working left to right (this is so I don't smudge everything as I go as I'm right handed).

Down to a week left. If you haven't got it going yet, hurry up and do something. Dont just let Roger walk away with the prize as the only entry.

Another reminder. Still time to throw something together.

I made a fuck up on mine so need to redo it. I did a rookie model build mistake and forgot to seal the styrofome before painting it now I have a blob. but I also have the weekend off and have til the 25th ;
