Just standing up the platform would be a beast, then add in maintaining the sites integrity. I had thoughts of getting something like this started a little while ago, but quickly gave up on the idea. The technology would be time consuming and expensive, but the administration involved would be a killer, especially resolving disputes.
I'd sure love to see someone take a crack at it and succeed though! I bet there is a market for it if your consider the higher side of things. Not sure it would be practical for sub $20 items. But carded stuff, rarer items, etc... I think it might. _________________________________________________ SHEESH!!!!i am not raping anyones childhood!!!! - Darren P.S. | In a way is this not what CBI, or whatever the name is, of Tom derby's kind of is? They broker the collection and many pieces never see eBay or elsewhere because he has a list of clients he calls for certain things. Not as public a scale as you guys are talking, but it is a high end collectable buy and sell with some form of guarantee I think. _________________________________________________ Bryan

I'd say that CIB is kind of a uber high end and not really. A marketplace. We're talking more public and common faire _________________________________________________ SHEESH!!!!i am not raping anyones childhood!!!! - Darren P.S. | I know a few people that broker at the high end of things -- for people who don't have the time to hunt for themselves. So yes, these people have "client lists" and connections to make it happen. It all happens behind closed doors.
A public visible "vintage star wars ebay" would be cool, but a massive challenge. It is interesting to watch in the sidelines and see what the facebook auction sites do and how they run things. |

| And when the closets are full, that's when you get creative. Hmmm.... the oven looks like it can hold a good amount of stuff. |

Hmmm.... the oven looks like it can hold a good amount of stuff. The other day I was looking for a box of toy Daleks I'd boxed up a while ago. Couldn't find it anywhere - eventually found it at the back of a cupboard where we keep the towels and linen _________________________________________________ Paul F,

| Life has kept me away but I prefer forums over social media. As far as forum traffic goes I have always found it difficult to get to the forums here from the main page. If I had just arrived on the main page and had no previous knowledge of the forums I am not sure I'd ever know they existed. I would suggest a bigger and easier to find link to the forums on the main page.
In regards to instant satisfaction with replies I would stay away from a chat box like some forums have. I've heard some horror stories about chat boxes being the death of forums. |
