Subject: Lili Ledy Bespin Leia with Gold Neck? Thu Oct 06, 2016 7:16 pm
I have three bespin leias which all seem to be variants. Two have the gold neck, but it also seems as if at least one of the figures is Lili Ledy. From the research I've done (which is limited), I have only come across two different varieties of Bespin Leia capes -- the Kennner and the Ledy. In this set, it seems that there are three varieties of capes with slight differences which made me hard to discern through photos. Are any of these figures possibly a gold necked Ledy Leia? If so, how rare might this figure be? Are there indeed three varieties of capes -- might one be a repro?
The Leia on the far left with gold neck has traditional kenner cape.
The one in the middle seems to have a lili ledy cape.
I am unable to identify the cape on the far right

None are ledy. Capes look fine to me and also none of the capes are ledy.

That's disappointing but thank you. Are the capes just variations of the original Kenner? I'm new to collecting so you'll have to excuse my ignorance... I assume from looking at ebay that the gold neck Leias are still worth a bit, no?

you seem to have lots of questions about where your figures are from . most of the times the answers are in the guides right here . just check them out . they are very thorough

This has a ton of information regarding leia bespin. I am not sure what you mean by "gold neck" as every leia produced has the gold trim around the collar and the only ones that don't is from either the paint mask was missed (so an error) or the paint has flaked off. This gold paint was notorious for flaking on these figures just the same as with bespin guards. The gold comes off very easy and there are pics of these figures in the bubble with what looks like gold dust in the bubble still sealed. Some of the flesh neck leia's had the gold oversprayed onto their necks and this caused a reaction which often times is green but can still be found with solid gold color to the neck area. These are over the entire neck though and yours don't appear to be that. So to call these "gold neck" is not accurate in my opinion as they appear to be the flesh neck with normal gold trim.
Here is an example of the green gold neck transformant I am referring to:

Hi Bryan, thanks. I have been navigating the various forums on this site, but I am admittedly a newbie to collecting, and its been somewhat difficult for me to find all the pertinent information. Being color blind makes it even more difficult when trying to detect the various subtle shadings of figures. I think I'm starting to figure things out, but I definitely appreciate your help along the way. I assume that none of the capes are variants either? I have looked around and have not seen the three shades of cape as they exist in these figures -- but perhaps I have not located the right forum yet...
