| That scales fairly nice with those figures. The zoo line and these must be fairly compatible. _________________________________________________ Bryan

| Thanks guys. Hi TT, Britains produced the majority of their toys to the same (1:32nd) scale.. their basic Land Rover must of seen at least 4 different re-paints: Military, Farm, Police & (for the Zoo series) a Safari version. |

| I bet no one here has these... This brand from the 60s (dissapeared) was El Huinca -that means "white man" in native language-. They were my very first soldiers and, as you can all see, they were a strange mix of american indians, cowboys and infantrymen.

| Very cool indian figures you have Fito.
The base on that artillery crew really stands out. A nice repaint on that would make it blend much better as it is such a vibrant green it really doesn't look natural. That is a nice shot of the tank in the background of the line soldier, makes another good action scene. _________________________________________________ Bryan

| The guy on the right must of been pulled out of the mould too early, the plastic hadn't cooled off properly.. |

| That rifleman is not too obvious he has a shorter leg, and from an angle could look like his knee was bent - making him the perfect figure to be taking pot shots on the brow of a hill down at a target. Oh, the Britains US cavalry and infantry... I had so many of them, 7th Cavalry mounted and on foot, Civil War, wagon, Gatling gun... sold them all Funny how some of the mounted cavalry had moulded reigns for the horses and on other series the elastic bands The ones I had iirc had the elastic bands too. _________________________________________________ Paul F,

| T'Shot, those Timpos are really cool. Such nice condition too I picked up some similar style cowboys by a company called Gerca, made in Macau. Not great quality but still good fun. Plus got hold of a still sealed bag. _________________________________________________ Paul F,

| I've recently been focusing my collecting energies onto completing the Britains Deetail W.W.II 8th Army & Afrika Korps series of toy soldiers. These were usually produced 6 different figures per set, normally (but not always) 5 soldiers & one officer, I'm nearly there now, just one more Desert Rat to find. The German's, with their colouring & sculpting, really put me in mind of the baddies from Raiders Of The Lost Ark. T'shot |

| I collect Marx dinosaurs and cavemen, are they allowed here?
The Egyptian chariots from that ad (and several other ancients kits, though not the complete line) by Atlantic have been re-issued from original molds in 1/72 scale. Originally they were made in both 1/72 and 1/32nd scale. Nexus/Italeri did the re-issue, they're pretty inexpensive per box. Googling will find them readily.
The small gladiators look like 1/72 scale Atlantic Romans to me though I am less familiar with their non-Egyptian stuff. |

| Yeah you can get 1/72 scale Egyptian Infantry and Cavalry, plus (at least) I believe Greek Cavalry and Infantry, and an "ancient life" set that was some kind of greco-roman looking civilian scenes.
I will try and stage some good Marx pics. The thing is, the Marx molds were in use from about 1955 to 1995, having passed through many hands after Marx went bankrupt. So there are a lot of color variations and so forth to collect. |

| Here's the first round of pics. This is a selection of my Marx 1980's reissues. Almost all of this is by Superior, but there are also Whitehall Games and the mid-90's Dapol animals roaming around, and a couple very recent re-issued plants. Dapol don't strictly fit the 80's theme but I like them so I included them. General info on the Marx dinos can be found here. https://www.dinosaur-toys-collectors-guide.com/marx-playset-monograph.html and the reissues here. https://www.dinosaur-toys-collectors-guide.com/marx-playset-monograph-Part-2.html A general overview. On the right, an allosaurus scavenges the corpse of a beached kronosaurus. Cavemen defend their home from a marauding Tyrannosaurus. Hard at work in a paleolithic piece-work factory. My whole Marx thing started with a Superior re-issue playset I found at K-Mart in the 80's and played with heavily as a kid. More on that later. Many of my Superiors are on display down at the Museum of Science for now, so they could not be in these pics. I also realized in taking this that most of my re-issue plants and trees seem to be down at the MOS too. I should buy more! They are still being produced, locally in fact. The molds to the dinosaur plants and trees are presently the only Marx dino molds that seem to have known whereabouts, the rest apparently disappeared in the 1990's when the last of the reissues were made. |
