| In the pursuit to preserve and protect the hobby, The Imperial Gunnery is launching a Kickstarter campaign to help create a truly safe and secure shipping/storing methods for vintage carded figures.
Details are in the Kickstarter (or just ask here)!
We hope to bring these to market soon, and appreciate any support!!

EDIT:
Did a quick video explaining the concept

| I love the concept of this project! What material is intended for the final design?

Looking at foam. It gives flexibility and can absorb impacts ad's dishes the energy well. It's also good if slight cuts are needed in case a bubble is a little off |

| For you guys who collect or sell carded this is a project to look into for sure. John has some pics on the kick-starter, I will try to save those or if he sees this he might post them before I can get to it.

| Thx Bryan Yeah for those who haven't clicked the link, here's a rough version of what I'm developing. Using a custom fabricator we're going to design foam enclosures that actually drop the card into it. This will immobilize the card ad's not allow it to move. The foam will be custom cut to fit the blister and also allow limited movement. In the case of a figure hitting the blister the foam should have the energy transferred into it. It'll disperse without damage to the bubbles offer at most minimal impact |

| Awesome idea I have done similar ideas like that for transporting plastic models and those are fragile but it does work, never thought of it for carded figures. Will see what we can spare to help you out. |

| Good lord, we should have hired a spokeswoman. Did you see that ugly mug in the video? Truthfully I hope this goes forward. I don't collect carded but these would for sure help save some of the detached figures that people have had come in the mail. And these would be more stable than an afa case with bubble protection. We have seen that the rigid design of those protectors leaves small space between the bubble and the acrylic rail which allows the figure to hit the bubble and can cause cracks since the bubble has room to move. The design of these is actually so that the foam will be snug to the bubble so any impact to the bubble will be absorbed by the foam hopefully preventing any cracks. For guys who ship, or even store carded figures these would be good. I don't know if long term storage in these would be good as some foams may react to the bubble plastic, but certainly short term storage these would work exceptionally well. I will add I don't know that the foam would have or cause any reaction so don't jump to that conclusion. I am in no way affiliated with this project other than I am a member of the gunnery and a friend to John. |

| Just bumping this up a bit in case anyone may have missed it. I don't collect (so don't ship) carded figures, but this seems like a great item that could save some of the shipping troubles and likely save some figures from bursting free in the post. |
