very cool. raptor was always quick to die when I played with them also as he seemed to be such a ridiculous character. I loved croc master though. the thought that a guy could sit and wait under the water and booby trap others was always fun.

Poor ol' Raptor
It's quite a nice figure in many respects, especially the sculpted details, but he (& Croc Master) looks more like a Spider-man baddie.

Which reminds me.. I attended a 80's toy collectors convention, here in the U.K, a few years ago where one of the cos-players was dressed as Croc Master:
I think he placed 3rd, the rock guy (from He-Man) 2nd & the Transformer won:
So glad I'm not nostalgically tied to these figures as they're some of the best 3.75s I've seen! I like how the line veers off from a military theme into the more fantasy/sci-fi realm. That croc master figure could be straight out of Mad Max! I also like the articulation and how they look good in vehicles. Is there a big market for repro? I imagine they would have similiar issues to vintage Kenner with missing guns, cloth goods etc. The line seems to have a ton of accessories.

Hi Artoo, Star Wars will always be my first love but Action Force/G.I.Joe are a very close second.
Thankfully repro's don't seem to be a major worry in Joe collecting They're certainly about, especially "replacements" for those tiny detachable helmet mounted microphones some of the pilot/tank drivers came with, yet the real problem I've found is finding the correct versions. Certain accessories were issued to different figures, sometimes many years apart, but moulded in slightly different colours or types of plastic.
There's a fantastic website Here covering G.I.Joe that features 3D galleries.. something I've not seen before.

I use this all the time when looking at figures and weapons. I don't follow joe as much as I used to when I had them all (way back in 90s) but I don't recall ever seeing major concern over reproduction stuff. Until recently I don't know that many individual joes were even worth very much and may still not be. The rarer mail aways and whatnot are usually priced a bit higher but even some of them are reasonable in comparison to star wars.

One of the reasons I started to collect Action Force (which led onto G.I.Joe) was it's affordability.
Also, I've noticed that, in general, as a community Joe collectors seem fairly relaxed about %100 authenticity, not that it's not important but things like replacing broken or paint worn figure parts isn't frowned upon... every loose figure collector's had to replace a rotten O-ring at some point in their lives.

1991.. From this year onward I practically lose interest in the line, except for this small handful of characters everything's far too Sci-Fi (with awful neon colours) for my tastes :
Big Ben: Big Ben, a member of the British S.A.S., became the first English member of the Joe Team. Love how the hand grenades can be carried inside the satchel.
Dusty & Sandstorm Dusty (from 1985) gets a new uniform & a pet Coyote, his machine gun features a rather nifty extendable stock.
Red Star: Leader of the Russia's elite military unit the "October Guard".. the Soviet Bloc's counterpart to G.I.Joe. Some great accessories &, as was becoming the norm for Joe figures, a spring firing rocket launcher:

..and finally 1992:
Big-Bear: Another member of the October Guard, except for a yellow grenade, this guy doesn't suffer from the neon paint curse the rest of the '92 does..

Very cool to see. I had some of these same vehicles and figures but the stickers said g.i. Joe not action force, so it is neat to see the difference in stickers.

Cheers guys
Hi T.T. Most of these date from when Hasbro was marketing Action Force so the stickers are pretty much the same as their U.S. counterparts.. the A.S.P. comes from the Palitoy era when the stickers were pretty different in style.
Here's the H.A.V.O.C.
I think the Action Force version differs from the G.I.Joe version by having different coloured missiles & machine guns?

As a kid I had almost every Joe thing made, but I never had this. I haven't even seen this before. You sure are making it hard not to hunt down some Joe's and/or action force stuff.

Hi Bryan,
Yeah the Checkpoint's originally an American release, the U.K. usually got things a year or two later, naturally (in both countries) the old "Figures Sold Separately" rule applies
It's another great little set but works much better (in play scenarios) used with vehicles..
..whereas the Battle Bunker set works just as well as a stand alone piece.

1987 Ice Viper (x2)..
1988 Destro..
1992 Ace..
All of the above figures would of originally came supplied with vehicles, as pilots or drivers, none of which I have or am really interested in owning.. I simply like the figure designs.
