| Where did you acquire this? It's possible that this could be reproduction though I haven't heard of any Romba hood reproductions. I did find a similar hood on a warok prototype, however with no provenance I would be reluctant to say it is a prototype. Here is the pic of the prototype hood from a rebelscum thread: _________________________________________________ Bryan

| I just got this in a lot on ebay and have no idea what it is. it looks like a prototype but nothing else I found in the lot would lead me to believe that it has some sort of logical origin from the guy I bought it from. None of the other accessories in the lot were odd, they were all vintage as far as I could tell and all the figures were regular and vintage as well, nothing telling me this is a prototype was in the lot, but I want to know what it is. If it isn't a prototype is there someone out there making these? |

| There wasn't a dark brown Romba in the lot though, to think of it there wasn't a Romba at all in the lot, just this hood. Thanks for the picture though, it looks to be a dead ringer for what I've got but I have no idea why they would be a prototype piece in what seemed like a basic figure lot I bought. Has anyone else found just a hood without the Romba? |

| Looks like the one I had - fairly sure it's pre production. |

| First off, it's great you're being skeptical. A lot of folks would be trying to cash in and not care if it is or isn't legit.
There was a time when pre prod didn't have these high premiums so very possible it was in the box at some point and forgotten about. Do you know if the seller was from Ohio? Maybe he was near Kenner?
You could always reach out to AFA or CAS and ask if they might offer authentication. It's a known pre production, so you're not introducing anything new. _________________________________________________ SHEESH!!!!i am not raping anyones childhood!!!! - Darren P.S. | Just to add: Oli (olisuds above), Steve (the dark artist on the forums), and probably John (darthberizing above) would be the guys to ask or who may know more. All have now or have had pre production pieces and Oli actually owned one of these hood types before. Usually for my preproduction questions these are the guys I reach out to and they will point m in a direction if they aren't sure.

| Thanks Bryan, very kind but must confess i'm no expert. I have however owned a few first shot Ewoks and first shot accessories and I'm fairly confident the hood pictured is pre production and matches the hood I had on my dark brown first shot. I also had another dark brown first shot with a regular grey hood. And I also recall seeing an example with a light brown hood that had been painted grey over the top plus a lumat that had been paired with a light brown Romba hood. |
