| Still no news from AFA. Can this be proof that fake afa cases do really exists?? It's not hard to imagine since repro weapons and even repro troopers exist. Am sure it is much easier to make an afa case than a figure. |

| Fake afa cases and labels have been around for a while. Usually they look off though and this label doesn't have any of the issues I have seen before. _________________________________________________ Bryan

| Afa replied: Hello Mark,
Thank you for your inquiry. Based on the serial number provided, the figure has been previously graded in 2012. It is possible that due to mishandling, the figure got more paint chips and flaws inside the sealed case, after the initial grade was released.
Serial Number Year Company Series Title Name Variation Grade Blister Figure Card Refusal Reason 13644553 1977 KENNER STAR WARS LOOSE ACTION FIGURE / HK LUKE SKYWALKER TELESCOPING SABER 85 N/A Is I hope that this is helpful. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Best regards, Marci however this should not be possible because the afa case and the inside of the afa case is prestine. No paint marks or tiny pieces of plastic inside the case. |

| First we discussed possible fakes with afa (note fakes will exist for all graders eventually as the market price increases) anyway I wanted to show you some threads just quickly searching rs and fakes with afa. https://www.google.com/search?q=fake+afa+rebelscum+site:forum.rebelscum.com&client=ms-android-metropcs-us&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiAifyh7NzVAhVsy1QKHVClCuQQ_AUICSgA&biw=980&bih=411&dpr=1.5 You can see stuff going back to 2003 just on the first page.
As far as the response from afa regarding this figure, that is why I will not collect graded figures. Supposedly these 3rd party graders are impartial but how did this figure having slop paint and possible repaint issues get an 85 when other things that look much better got an 80 or whatever? Grades are subjective and I truly don't know how impartial any of these companies are. Not to mention that afa has had countless things over the years, all the way from grading fake weapons, wrong weapons, up to grading a resealed figure.
There is no flawless system, but to me buying a piece of acrylic with a sticker on it (which in all honesty doesn't even mean you got what the sticker says you got) is the worst way to go. Just my opinion though. _________________________________________________ Bryan

| I agree that the sticker means nothing. After seeing this 85 luke, a sticker graded 85 really means nothing as none of my worse condition loose figures has every gotten two gaping holes on their legs. this is enough Evidence that afa grading does not mean anything. Unfortunately |

| Don't believe a word eBay says, they are not an authority on Star Wars - that article that you have grabbed the pics from is a highly misleading article that says all Star Wars 1977/8 China Coos are fake
http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Spotting-Fake-Vintage-Star-Wars-Figures-/10000000019237856/g.html
You only need to go on TIG, Rebel Scum or the Star Wars Forum to find out that's not true. If you don't believe me ask the experts on here or contact UKG. |

| Yeah, I am not a Luke focus collector but fairly sure there are authentic examples with "bright" hair. That article is notorious for being full of misinformation. Many have complained but eBay won't remove it. The China coo thing comes back around about once a year or so. I wish that article would disappear but eBay doesn't care if it is misleading with its information I guess. _________________________________________________ Bryan
