Hi, apologies only come on here occasionally as I flit between pinball, lego and vintage star wars but after some help if possible.
I picked up a fairly nice tri-logo unpainted knee, painted dart off eBay but have a concern. The left painted knee and right painted cuff are a slightly darker shade than the other pads etc. I do have a unpainted knee, unpainted dart version and the right knee pad is a different shade as well. Is this common on these figures or should all the pads be the same shade.
Trying to get hold of a UV light to check for touch ups, but other than that it looks fine.
The seller has assured me that it was a childhood toy just found in his fathers roof.

You said that you bought an 'unpainted knee/painted dart' but that's looking like a 'painted knee/painted dart' version in the pictures.

Regarding shade variants, it happens sometimes. For instance, a Boba belt can be different on the torso than it is on the legs.

As above, that is painted knee, painted dart and as parts are painted prior to assembly you will get batch differences in paint shade/colour

Yes, that is normal. Kenner/Palitoy were known for their inconsistent paint, overspray, forgetting to paint something, and other errors. It comes down to the paint not being mixed well in the reservoir. So you get a blast of slightly darker paint or lighter paint along the way.
